Jammu: Indian Army has launched a Strong reply to Pakistan's firing
by destroying five Pakistani Post in single attack.

Sending a strong message to Pakistan over repeated ceasefire violations
and Border Action Team (BAT) attacks, a top Army commander today
warned it was making a "serious mistake" and said a befitting reply would
be given with "full force" at the time and place of its choice.

"You (Pakistan) are making a serious mistake (with regard to ceasefire
violations and BAT attacks), do not do it," General Officer Commanding (GOC)
25 Infantry Div, Major General V P Singh told reporters in Rajouri in Jammu
and Kashmir.

India has blamed BAT, which is a mix of Pakistani special forces personnel
and terrorists, for the brutal killing of its two soldiers in January, one of
whom was beheaded, and killing of its five personnel along the LoC in Poonch
sector.

"what you are putting across, it is not going to affect, deter us or
weaken our resolve," Gen Singh said.

He further said that the Army is here to respond to each and every
act of Pakistan in whichever way it feels so.

adding the Army's strategy in the wake of the BAT attacks engineered
by Pakistan, Gen Singh said "as far as BAT action is concerned, we are
absolutely aware what kind of response it is going to get, that response
will be delivered".

Gen Singh said the Defence Minister and the Chief of Army Staff have
given his command clear directions that violation of ceasefire or any other
act of infiltration from across LoC will be met resolutely with power and full
force.

"As far as I am concerned, those directions are with me - we are responding
and retaliating to the situation as per the requirements with full force", Gen
Singh said.

He further said that Army Chief had also made it clear that Army is free to
reply and respond to the BAT attacks as per opportunity and strategy.

"As per opportunity and situation, what is to be done -- everybody knows it
and reply accordingly will be given."

At another media briefing at Bhimbher Gali in Poonch sector along LoC,
Brigade Commander, 120 Infantry Brigade, Brig A Sengupta said Army has
inputs about Pakistan trying to engineer more BAT attacks along the border

The situation at the Line of Control or LoC in Jammu and Kashmir continues
to remain tense with another ceasefire violation by Pakistan. The Pakistani
troops opened fire at the Indian posts along the LoC in Mendhar area with
mortars drawing retaliation from India.

The Indian Army foiled another infiltration bid by the terrorists in Keran
sector in Kupwara districts in Kashmir along the LoC on Saturday night. The
Indian troops retaliated to firing after the troops on the Pakistani side
opened fire last night.

The There have been 19 ceasefire violations in one week along the LoC. The
Indian Army has said that the last two months have seen most ceasefire
violations in months.

Defence spokesman SN Acharya said the Pakistani troops targeted the Indian
forward areas with small arms fire at Ceasefire violation by Pak troops
continues at Line of Control, infiltration bid foiled in Kupwara.

On Friday night, Pakistani troops had fired on forward Indian posts along
the LoC in Mendhar and Hamirpur areas of Poonch district, armydrawing
retaliation from India.

A senior Army official said Pakistani troops are not just targetting Indian
posts, but also the villages along the Line of Control.

On Thursday, Pakistan fired across the Line of Control in the Kargil and
Drass sectors of Jammu and Kashmir for the first time in the 14 years
since the Kargil war of 1999.

The last two weeks have seen what the Indian Army has described as the
biggest ceasefire violation in recent months. About 28 militants have also
been killed while trying to infiltrate into India under the cover of fire by
the Pakistani troops in the last two months.

Pakistan has been known to favour the strategy of pushing through as
many militants as possible into India before the mountain passes of the
Himalayas close with the onset of winters. They use the skirmishes at the
border as cover for the infiltration attempts.

The attacks also mark a complete breakdown of ceasefire with Pakistan, a
month before Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart
Nawaz Sharif are expected to meet in New York on the sidelines of the
United Nations General Assembly.

Strong reply by Indian Army : five Pakistani Posts Destroyed

Word has it Indian Army pages on social networking sites have confirmed
the news. Can someone verify?

So destroying sand bags and wooden huts is a worthy response

I mean, way to go India , yeah, destroy those sand bags!! woohoo !! :yahoo: :chilli:

Are you implying that no PA troop could have died while the posts were destroyed? These posts were
used to carry out the cross-LoC firings. So they were manned when IA attacked them.

So there are 2 possibilities now -

1) PA troops had died defending the posts,

or

2) They left the posts and ran away.

Either way, it's unlikely Pak will confirm any deaths of PA troops. So yeah, we just destroyed
your posts for now.

5 check posts VS 5 indian soldiers- Fair Deal i guess- :coffee:-

That's not accounting for any PA deaths that may have occurred while trying to defend the posts.

But no news about no. of PA troop deaths has emerged so far, so too early to draw a conclusion.

The posts were mostly likely very close to the border.
Like 10-20 feet away...
And in that distance the only erections (pardon me) you see there are just sand bag huts. These are just there in case anything happens when Pak soldiers are patrolling VERY close to the border and need cover from shooting.

Almost all Pakistan Rangers are 60 ft away..
And India wouldnt dare to attack a station where PR is...

A bullet can go much farther than 60 ft.

Now that 5 of these posts are down, they will need to be rebuilt if to provide cover in case of
another firing.

Trying to rebuild them now will be foolish as they would be ambushed without cover, so sorry, these
posts are down for weeks, until the dust settles.

India doesnt have guts and simply cant fire on Pak Army in own territory. Sorry.
Keep bollywood stories within yourself please.

Go kill 5 Pakistani soldiers first and then make these statements

I think this is a step to either deny them a platform for firing, or catch them off guard without cover or
fortification while they try to rebuild the posts.

Whose own territory?
