Stop interfering in our internal issues, Bangladesh warns Pakistan

Its a sad tragedy that war criminals walked free (and the role that IG and India played in allowing/seeking for this to happen). Bangladesh honour was trampled on so cheaply by all sides concerned.

Are you saying that India had already coerced/advised Mujib to let these 195 officers go before it was "agreed" upon officially between Pak and B'desh?....or that it was purely a decision by Mujib to go for recognition from Pakistan at earliest opportunity and let bygones be bygones etc? Or some combination of both?

It is the first time I have come across this 195 officer thing specifically...but I have not read in depth about the POW release process. I always thought everyone was released in one go together....but obviously some initial persons of interest process had initiated for some very clear cut criminal cases. I think @asad71 and @Md Akmal posted some information about this in another thread some time back.
Both of BD's war time supporters backed of. Soviets just wanted out of the problem, India too was afraid that it will further escalate the situation. Due to the Sino - Soviet split, China factor, China and Pakistani opposition to membership of BD in UN.And it was India and Indira who pressed mujib to compromise. Mujib himself said it many times. overall the situation was against BD.

.
they were in india .You know the pak army surrendered to indian army . Indian army never wanted Pakistan army face civil justice because both are regular and professional force .Mujib was forced and Mujib had nothing to do or go against indias will .So there was an agreement between mujib and Indira not to face justice of those 193 army officer of Pakistan .

For the people like you Pakistan lost its most precious territory . Bangladesh is not getting down 200 years past but the Bangladesh economy is better than Pakistan now . Nizami can die today doesn't mean that he will not face justice for what have he done! The arms race with the India will suffocate Pakistan soon . Bangladesh is more stable now.

No Pakistan didn't lose it's most precious territory . Our part was always better with the highest mountains in the world , Deserts , Waterways and so much diversity in one place compared to the one dimensional flatlands of bangladesh . Yeah Your economy is so much better :

PK $ 930 billion (PPP) ( $ 5100 per capita)
Bangladesh $ 500 billion ( $ 3600 )

Nominal

PK somewhere around $ 1600 per capita ( IMF figures not released for PK)
Bangladesh $ 1400

.
He certainly kept a soft spot for Pakistan even after what had happened in 1971....otherwise he would not have folded so easily to that pressure from IG and other quarters. This is one of my strong fundamental grievances with that woman and Mujib to some extent...a horrible blunder and travesty of justice.

Were the names of these 195 officers ever declassified/made public?
what can I say?he always wanted to be the PM of Pakistan.

As far as I recall, those were known at least among the political spehere or inside military peoples. But other than the top generals none were made public.

Well great statistics by self typing .Can you pls tell me if your economy is that high like 930 billions then why cant pay some 800 million for some American jets ? ;)

.
Bangladeshis, think that Pakistan revolves around their country. It will take one good global warming to drown your little country. Better grow gills
You should convince that to your government and media.I also thought that Pakistani don't give any attention to whatever happen in BD,but for the last 2-3 years I am thinking otherwise.

Last time it is your govt who is whining and biatching . Take this thread as example . Us ordinary people dont give a damn how many you kill your countrymen. Its been i guess 40 years look where you are.You are nothing more than backyard of india .

.
Get over this 1971 obsession please . 200 years down the lane you guys will still be banging the table about 71 :hitwall: .
It is not easy to forget genocide.Look at Turkey and Armenia,101 years on, still poisoning relation for 1915 Armenian genocide. It is still poisoning relation between China and Japan after 70 years despite repeated Japanese formal apology.
I think it will continue on and on until Pakistan accept responsibility of 1971 genocide.

you don't see us getting all obsessed over 47 do you ? even though millions of muslim's died . Despite our animosity with India not many people quote or obsess over the fact that so many people lost their lives during partition . Yes it was a tragedy but no point in clinging on to it like bangladesh does with 71 .

We open this thread because pakistan is poking it's nose into BD's internal affairs.Last time our govt. didn't ask pakistan to pass a condemnation bill into parliament.:P

$630 actually, its not that we cant pay.. we have $8 billion Budget. its just a game... our foreign minister also said that if USA will not provide money we will buy from Russia or China :D

also we already have 90 F-16's, most upgraded Mirage 3 and 5 = 150, 150= J-7 and producing 25 JFT per year (70 already in service)? where is BD in this regard? you own 6 mig 29 :D and still buying those jet which Pakistan want to put in scrape...

.
True color of Pakistani people, terrorism comes out when get a chance . At least hasina gave them court justice , they don't deserve any justice for whatever they done. You bring Allah for true justice. Well Allah wrote their fate and It was they will die by hanging . Why are you crying then ?

Its absolutely a matter of Bangladesh .Stop putting your legs on our bucket .The agreement was that Bangladesh will not judge 193 army officer who had commited murder , rape , genocide in Bangladesh. where you get that bd can't judge their own people who was the collaborator with the pak army ? pls upload the agreement paper or stop your bokwaj. And nijami is a Bangladeshi citizen . we can hang him upto 7 days . we are not hanging mr. nowaj sharif . so stop crying .

Its about perception, your Mukti bahni lot and their ilk are considered as terrorists in Pakistan who back-stabbed a sovereign nation in their lust of power and conspired with Hindu India to sow hatred among the citizens of Pakistan. So tell me what is difference between Hasina Wajid and his gang, and the TTP lot we are hunting on Pakistan-Afghansitan border.

You can send these people to gallows by all means. It will further divide your nation and create unrest within. The legitimacy of Hasina Wajid regime and her kangaroo courts is absolutely Zero. These are all judicial murders. But if you insist this is right course of action then I would say we need to send some of the Mukti bahni lot in the court of Allah so both sides can plead their case in the biggest court of all. It is only fair!

Statement on Nizami verdict: Bangladesh govt hands Pakistan envoy protest letter

Star Online Report
The government today handed a ‘strongly-worded’ protest letter to Pakistan envoy in protest against the country’s statement on Supreme Court verdict dismissing the review plea of condemned war criminal and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Motiur Rahman Nizami.

Foreign ministry summoned Pakistan High Commissioner in Bangladesh Shuja Alam this afternoon to lodge a formal protest over the statement issued by Pakistan Foreign Office on May 6.

Responding to the summons, the Pakistan envoy met Bangladesh Foreign Secretary (bilateral) Mizanur Rahman at the ministry at 3:00pm.

During the 15-minute meeting, Bangladesh conveyed its dissatisfaction over the Pakistan Foreign Office statement.

“The statement issued by Pakistan Foreign Office is totally unacceptable,” Mizanur Rahman told reporters after the meeting today.

On receiving the note verbale, the Pakistan envoy said he would convey the message to his government.

In the May 6 statement, Pakistan Foreign Office said: "We have noted with deep concern and anguish the dismissal of the review application on the death sentence by the Supreme Court of Bangladesh for Mr Motiur Rahman Nizami, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami.”

Referring to Tripartite Agreement of April 1974, the Pakistan government said in the statement: “There is a need for reconciliation in Bangladesh in accordance with the spirit of the tripartite agreement of April 1974 which calls for a forward looking approach in matters relating to the events of 1971.”

Expressing disappointment over the statement, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam yesterday asked Islamabad to stop interfering in Bangladesh's internal affairs.

“We never welcome anyone's concern in our domestic affairs but Pakistan is interfering in our domestic issues despite our repeated reminders,” he said while talking to reporters yesterday.

He pointed out that those being tried for their crimes against humanity are Bangladeshi citizens but Pakistan is “sad” for them.

Took me some time to make sense of what you have typed.

Agreement was signed well after 1971. Anything that happened in 1971 does not void a later agreement. It was agreed by Sheikh Mujeeb. Apparently his daughter has no respect for him.

No, it is not Bangladesh's internal matter. Read the discussion above.

Nope .She is doing the duty of a proud daughter .She is taking revenge .
Pakistan also have an infamous record in renegaging their own words .
So dont clinch on agreement.
