State of the Art Articulated Buses for the Metro Bus Project

State of the art articulated buses will arrive soon in Pakistan; these 45 buses are to be used for the Metro Bus Project. These buses have a seating capacity of 170 people and will leave from every bus station after every two and a half minutes. An uninterrupted and dedicated lane for buses is being constructed over a span of 32 kilometers from Gajju Matta to Shahdara from which thousands of commuters will benefit daily. This project includes South Asia’s biggest bridge which is being constructed and is 8 kilometers long.

The Gov. of Sindh should initiate a project like this but with only buses not bus stops which are already there. I would prefer that we should buy buses from Japan that can cheaper to get and maintain easily with 0% Duty and may be we require nearly 300+ buses for karachi. INSHA ALLAH Karachi BRT program will be materialize in near future. Ameen.

Is it for Lahore BRTS system???
Can any one post updates of 8 km long bridge..??

It is just an over head bridge on land not over any river or sea. It passes over densely populated area of the Lahore city. The bus route is 32 km long starting from north to the south of the Lahore city passing through densely populated inner city.
Turkey gave 100 of these buses for the Lahore BRTS system.

can someone post a map to location of this project

thanks

Nice! What about the cost? I think TATA or Ashok Leyland could have provided good buses at far cheaper rates. Like these ones:

Ashok Leyland announced the winning of an order from Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) for 88 air-conditioned buses for a value worth US$ 6.5 million under the Indian Line of Credit (LoC) scheme offered for the improvement of urban transportation in that country. This order comes close on the heels of the recent order to supply 50 vestibule buses to BRTC.

Cheers!

Circular railway project is a project of the 1990's should have been built way back then, Karachi needs something more advanced than that, lets hope for the best,
