That I don't know because I don't live there probably the pakistanis living in UK know better about it. But for universities I know because when I was deciding to do a master in UK, I used to order prospects of many universites around early 2000s and it was always mentioned in the fees section of the prospectus that a non-UK or non-EU student will pay like 15000 pounds per year whereas the a UK national or an EU national will pay only 4000 pounds.

Sadly SOME of the uni dont even keep up their standards....MANY do...but many also dont! That is why they have all these servey / rankings because that is how you attract customers/ students!

May be now but I remember around early 2000s it was free for non-EU students also, some of my class mates from pakistan went there to do a masters degree (english instructed) and they payed only nominal service fees during every semester which was like in few hundred euros.

It was in early to mid 2000s they started charging...But some courses were charging slightly earlier!

But in UK, you have to pay heavy fees, for example a non-UK national may have to pay 20000 pounds per year as fees for a master degree in a university, a UK national is subsidized to pay only 5000 pounds but 5000 pounds is still a lot of money and many students belonging to economically poor families probably rely on loans.

UK Schools till end of A levels are free , for every single person , national or non national, and have good quality infrastructure and education,
Private schools are a whole separate deal only for the elite of the society, not common at all ,

The government has failed to put forward a uniform code of education on a national level and is only interested in making money out of the plight of Pakistanis. There is no sincerity from top to the bottom in this depressive setup of loot, pillage and rinse and repeat.

Is there a concept of open schooling in pakistan ? the reason i ask is getting a higher level education is the minimum one can do...even though due to various reason's i failed even in that but thinking of restarting my education with National open schooling which is on par with CBSE board...if something like this is made available in your country the fleecing of parents can be circumvented...the only catch is in NIOS like system of india...either the parents must be little educated to guide the student here and there or the kid has to have access to google mama.
