SSİK to gather on Thursday: T-Loramids on agenda

Turkey's Defence Industry Executive Committee (SSİK) will convene for a meeting on Thursday. The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan where Chief of General Staff General Necdet Özel and Defence Minister İsmet Yılmaz will attend. The $4 billion worth long-range air defence system tender ( T-LORAMIDS) is expected to be on discussion table. Bidders for the tender are American Patriot, Russian S-300, China's FD-2000 and French-Italian Eurosam Samp-T.

Landing Platform Dock ( LPD) with helicopter take-off- landing capacity will programme is also expected to be on table. Former winner of MILGEM programme RMK Marine bids to the tender. RMK Marine had won the MILGEM project but the procedure is on hold right now. The situation is expected to be discussed once more.

Hurkuş, TAI made, Turkish indegenious Turkish pilot training aircraft’s future might be discussed as well. The aircraft made its maiden flight on August 29th, 2013.
