Sri Lankan army chief thanks Pakistan Army for 'incessant support' in fight against terrorism

Sri Lankan Army Chief Lt Gen A.W.J.C. De Silva in a visit to General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa to thank Pakistan Army for its "incessant support to Sri Lanka’s fight against terrorism", Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.

Upon his arrival at GHQ, the Lt Gen De Silva was briefed about Pakistan Army's campaign against terrorists and banned organisations, the army's media wing said.

Lt Gen De Silva appreciated the army's achievements and contributions towards national and regional security and expressed full confidence in Pakistan's ability to "completely overcome this menace in the near future."

COAS Bajwa thanked his Sri Lankan counterpart and both sides reaffirmed their determination to work together for the enhancement of regional security and continuing military cooperation.

Lol that's the job for Sri Lankan Airforce Chief...what army chief has to do with airforce platforms. We Pakistanis needs to learn this difference.

Nope. The Airforce is still divided on buying light fighters or heavy fighters. There isn't much official info except a small statement by the PM in an interview

Hmmm. What makes you think LankaPak strong bilateral relations are a fraud ? In fact that unconditional support to Pakistan especially in 71' was one of the excuses India makes for it's role in creating the Tamil terrorists that destabilized the island nation, That led to suffering over 30 years

And Pakistan have reciprocated through the decades as a staunch ally in supporting the Lankan forces

1971? Fair enough. Actually not calling SriLanka a fraud, rather recommending some guys to stay cautious from every friend and enemy in today's scenario.
I admit that we have very friendly relations with SriLanka, and we will continue to have good relations with S.Lanka.

The despicable excuse Indians give for the Indira Gandhi regimes role in creating cross border terrorism in SL was it's role in supporting Pakistan armed forces in it's battle against the separatists of then East Pakistan.. Even though it was an internal issue with Pakistan India saw the support given by SL as a n affront to them given their ulterior motives in creating Bangladesh.. Colombo gave Pakistani ships and air craft free access to all it's ports

Mate i'm not a Buddhist myself and just started reading the teachings, Probably @Saradiel @Tshering22 can help out ?? Each cannon also differs on each school, In Theravada school it's the Pali cannon(Tripitaka) Eastern/Mahayana/ Chinese school it's the Taisho tripitaka, Tibetan school it's another cannon

I usually stick to sermons from more knowledgeable monks like Ajhan Brahmavanso

No offense but what do we need from Sri Lanka? they are such a small and weak country and they will probably prefer India over Pakistan. We should be more focused on bettering relations with our immideate neighbours. nowdays every dog, cat, mouse has started giving threats to Pakistan

Pakistan doesn't need any thing from Sri Lanka. May be it would be right time for Pakistanis to stop looking at others with greedy begging eyes.
So if Lanka is small we don't need relations with them? Or we must have bad relations with them?
Btw they never preferred India over Pakistan, like our beloved neighbor Iran and so called Afgan govt do.
