Sri Lankan army chief thanks Pakistan Army for 'incessant support' in fight against terrorism
Sri Lankan Army Chief Lt Gen A.W.J.C. De Silva in a visit to General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa to thank Pakistan Army for its "incessant support to Sri Lanka’s fight against terrorism", Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.
Upon his arrival at GHQ, the Lt Gen De Silva was briefed about Pakistan Army's campaign against terrorists and banned organisations, the army's media wing said.
Lt Gen De Silva appreciated the army's achievements and contributions towards national and regional security and expressed full confidence in Pakistan's ability to "completely overcome this menace in the near future."
COAS Bajwa thanked his Sri Lankan counterpart and both sides reaffirmed their determination to work together for the enhancement of regional security and continuing military cooperation.
