But again as an offtopic, I felt good when Congress put Mamata in her place wrt to Pres/VP polls. And I wonder how Time magazine projected a state level politician as 100 most powerful people in the world.

That is why India need to have a Monroe doctrine as Ajtr suggested. We can't do much with Gwadar but we can prevent the situation from happening in Chittagong, Hambantotta or Coco islands. But do not be a regional bully - have diplomacy take the lead. Sometimes they win, sometimes India win.

If you cant even prevent it then why spend billions on defence so that you can see force with all its equipment doing march past on rajpath on 26th janurary and you can clap and then go to sleep.Softpower without the backing of hard power to protect is simply waste of money and energy and resources.


USA has the biggest softpower of the world in hollywood ,disney etc but then it also has all those supercrusier sailing the all the oceans to protect its softpower and interests.
