I don't think ALCM could effectively shoot at systems like S 300 which are mobile and can be hidden. I am thinking that if Sri Lanka could build a tunnel complex in the central hills for the S 300 system it would make things difficult for the enemy teams to destroy the S 300 system.

Well you have a point there. The only solution IMHO to look for investments in Hambantota economic corridor and Colombo port city. Once the stagnated infrastructure projects are restarted we could see some positive trend in the economy as hard currency is drawn into the country as loans.

If we cannot play both sides, then it is better that we take the side of China instead of India.

S-300 is an old system. it is still potent

All advance air forces can defeat it until not upgraded with latest tech from S-400, and there was a reason due to which Russia developed its successor.

Even the old S-300 is superior to most air defense systems

With surveillance or not even US had a hard time locating Iraqi Scuds and they had a very hard time locating Serbian mobile SAM systems. Therefore I won't put too much faith on Indian surveillance assets. If well hidden and wisely used air defense system is used, it can give a incredibly hard time for India to counter them.

Nothing is easy .Everything need good preparations
