Sri Lanka Navy Intercepts Terrorists from India

Sri Lankan Naval Personnel attached to the North-western Naval Command intercepted 02 persons attempting to enter Sri Lanka under cover crossing the north-western seas on 21st January 2012. The duo of Sri Lankan Tamil origin had been trying to creep onto the 08th Sand Bank by swimming from the 09th where they had first landed by a hired Indian boat.

Preliminary investigations reveal that one is a 26-year youth resident in Muttur, who had under gone LTTE Sea Tiger training in 2005 and fled to India in 2006. The other aged 44 had been a former fisherman residing in Mannar, who had gone to India in 2007. Both were handed over to Thalaimannar Police for further investigations.

Another attack on TN fishermen; 9 missing

Rameswaram (TN): Nine fishermen from Rameswaram were missing and more than 200 boats damaged in an alleged attack by Sri Lankan Naval personnel at the International Maritime Boundary Line in Palk Strait RPT in Palk Strait, officials said on Sunday.

Fishermen from the island who had put out to sea in more than 600 boats were fishing near the IMBL when they were allegedly surrounded by Sri Lankan Naval personnel and attacked with stones, forcing them to return to the shores, fisheries officials said quoting the fishermen.

This is the first attack on Tamil Nadu fishermen allegedly by the neighbouring Republic's navy after External Affairs Minister S M Krishna raised the issue with authorities in Colombo during his four-day visit last week.

Ahead of Krishna's visit, the Joint Working Group on Fisheries between the two countries also discussed the issue with the Indian side stressing that use of force against fishermen, including by civilians, is not justifiable under any circumstances.

Officials said nine fishermen onboard two of the 600 boats did not return to shore. However, it was not known whether they had been taken into custody by Sri Lankan Navy or had strayed somewhere else.

According to fisherman Justin, whose boat was pelted with stones, the Lankan Navalmen attacked them with big stones damaging the windscreen of many boats. They also cut off the fishing nets and took them away. More than 200 boats suffered damage in 'the heavy shower' of stones, said another fisherman Jagadheesh, who suffered cut injury in his leg.

What is the reason of this BIG font? The thread title is 'Sri Lanka Navy Intercepts Terrorists from India' but you yourself accept it is one person.

I never knew that a person trained for one year can go back on vendetta against the SL armed forces.... Like Rambo.

There are 6.5 million people living in Tamilnadu alone... A single person who took up terrorist training for one year and came to India as a refugee during the peak civil war and now is sailing back to his motherland, How come it is done by INDIA?

. . .
Or

Indian trained Srilankan terrorist Arrested- :coffee:-

India had got its fingers burned by supporting LTTE and paid a very heavy price long long ago... They are history now!

There may be some cheap low profile politicians who will always kindle the issue... That does not mean all India did it.
