Sri Lanka Navy busts drug trafficking attempt from India

Sri Lanka Navy has seized a haul of narcotics being smuggled allegedly from India in a pre-dawn raid this morning, a Naval official said.

The haul containing ''Kerala Ganja'' and hashish, worth 10 million Sri Lankan rupees, were seized off the northwestern coast of Kalpitiya, Naval spokesman commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said.

Four people have been arrested - two of them at Kalpitiya and the rest were arrested at the Colombo north suburb of Kadawatha.

The drugs were being kept hidden pending transfer to Colombo when the Navy made the raid seizing 20 kilograms of ''Kerala Ganja'' and 40 slabs of Hashish, each weighing 500 grams.
