Sri Lanka is to open Second consulate office in China

Sri Lanka is to open a consulate in the Chinese industrial province of Sichuan in a bid to promote investment prospects and help Sri Lankan students studying there, Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Bhaila said yesterday.

He said he would be leaving for China tomorrow for the opening of the consulate. Sri Lanka already has an embassy in Beijing and a consulate in Shanghai.
