Are you kidding me .... Sri Lanka is an island nation that has to import just about everything to survive. A simple naval blockade will kill you......and here you are talking about controlling IOR

we are not totally depend on imports. I think you didn't get what he meant. Sri Lanka and Maldives are the only 2 countries which located in the strategic location. but Maldives can not offered what Sri Lanka can offer. So China needs to hold its presence in Sri Lanka if they willing to be here, that's what they are doing now. China can have refueling facilities and various other facilities, they can roam around IOR without any fear coz we get bigger share after 2020 and in any matter they can enter to our waters.

Its good Sri Lanka has discovered Oil......India would like to see all nations surrounding it prosper so that our lives become easier. People who have something to loose do not indulge in war. Its the looser nations that have nothing to lose that are our headache.
