Sri Lanka cancels on-arrival visa facility for Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD: The Sri Lankan government has cancelled the on-arrival visa facility for Pakistanis, DawnNews reported.

The decision was officially communicated to Pakistan’s Foreign ministry on Friday.

It was taken in view of the rising number of political asylum cases in Sri Lanka.

Earlier, Pakistani nationals were granted on-arrival visas in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is now scheduled to forward an application to Pakistan's High Commission which will state the travel requirements.

Not only Political Asylum, SL was being used as a base by the ISI for launching clandestine operations against India after Nepal route became too dangerous. R&AW snatched a few anti-India elements from the heart of Colombo putting the Sri Lankan government in tight spot.

Sri Lanka won't like the Indian agencies to get deeply involved like it did in Nepal where high profile political assassinations of anti-India elements were carried out. Also, India can do other things in case her security is threatened.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam was unsympathetic to the plight of the detained refugees in Sri Lanka, saying: “These people (asylum seekers) obtained asylum in Sri Lanka by badmouthing Pakistan. If they are in trouble, I have no idea.” “I do not know of any operation being conducted by Sri Lankan authorities against Pakistani refugees,” she added.

One of the handlers of the 26/11 attack was nabbed by the R&AW from high-security zone in Colombo embarrassing the Sri Lankan government. Search for it on net. These operations are never officially acknowledged but some have been reported by the press. Sri Lanka is being used by ISI because Nepal and Bangladesh have become too dangerous.

Now we need to make sure that Nepal also stops giving visa free/visa-on-arrival to Pakistani citizens.

Thats just fringe extremists groups going at each other.. There is no wide spread animosity between the two communities and it's all political motives.. This has nothing to do with it.. As i said most of these asylum seekers are prosecuted Pakistani religious minorities

We have got Indian Security officials at entry points in Nepal. No problem there.

Yes SL has a ETA system.. And has a visa on arrival for all countries
