GHQ, Dhamyal airbase, Zarrar camp being spied on

RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD: Security forces, including the ISI and other secret agencies, have raided a big spy centre and arrested 15 persons and recovered radars and other equipment from their possession in Gulshan Abad on Adiala Road, Rawalpindi, on Saturday.

The sources said that through this spy centre, situated in a very sensitive area, people used to monitor the GHQ, Dhamyal Airbase, Zarar Camp, Adiala Jail and other sensitive installations in the area. The three-storeyed spy centre was situated at the top of a hill in Gulshan Abad. The people of the area said that the movement of suspicious people was often noticed in that building.

The sources said that personnel of a secret agency had been monitoring the signals being received from the building for last few weeks and successfully detected the spy centre and arrested 15 people and recovered radars and latest equipment which were being used in the monitoring. More information is being expected from the arrested people. The Indian spy agency RAW’s involvement could not be ruled out in the establishment of this spy centre.

The security agencies are investigating the letters which were recovered from the site and whether this spy centre was under the use of terrorists. If so, who was behind it and did they want to achieve some large target in the area?

INP adds: The sensitive agencies arrested three most wanted terrorists besides making recoveries from their possession here on Saturday.

The sensitive agencies conducted raids in different areas of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad including Tarnol, Kurri Road and their surroundings during which three terrorists were nabbed along with arms.

Sources said that the detained terrorists belong to Fata and had been involved in many terrorist activities across the country. The arrested terrorists have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

How the heck can they spy on GHQ from Gulshan a Bad.....,?? Though it has to be 502 workshop which was under the radar as it is much much closer to.the area......on the otherside if Terrorist were living there then I.would not.rule out the possibility of attack on Askari 14, a newly built Society for serving Officers....interestingly a shortcut.from gulshanabad leads to Back gate of Askari

Terrorists belonged to FATA; as usual.

Main export of their terror economy.

These idiots allowed TTP to build torture chambers in their houses for money. They will do anything for a dollar, anything illegal and immoral. They even get free electricity. I don't think FATAites have ever done a honest days work in their lives.

Radars to spy? o_O
1-Dhamyal is army aviation airbase which houses mi-17 and bell helicopters. 2- GHQ and other locations which have been mentioned are at a short distance from that place, terrorists can spy or recce any potential target on foot or in a vehicle using that centre in Gulshanabad as their base/hideout. There is also a possiboility that Terrorists may also had plans to attempt a prison break in Adiala jail to free their captive comrades.@balixd

my question was how does one spy with a radar?

Radars are used for detection/tracking and its usage broadcasts the user's presence. So a really bad choice of tool for spying.

In another thread @Zarvan, being a usual terrorist apologist, was defending these people and arguing that all the problems and TTP emerged because the GoP failed to implement sharia laws in FATA and rest of Pakistan. He conveniently ignored the time when 'sharia' was implemented in Sawat by Sufi-the-swine, the father-in-law of Fazal-the-swine of TTP and hundreds of young girls were abducted and forcefully married to Taliban swines, sometimes 4 nikkahs in a single night. I warned @Zarvan on this wish of his and mentioned that don't ask for implementation of sharia in FATA otherwise at-least 50% of males will end up with severed hands for their dealings in drug and weapons smuggling, lashes for human abduction/trafficking, and stoning to death for bacha baazi. Implementation of sharia law will be the last thing folks in FATA would want.

Apparently, people have conveniently forgotten the time when the stolen goods, kidnapped people were taken to and drugs weapons imported from illaqa-e-gher. The terror economy in Waziristan existed long before Musharraf even thought of entering the tribal belt.
