Spine of MOST ADVANCED AIRLINER boeing 787 Dreamliner - MADE IN INDIA !

but as long as you can tag along for the ride and get it in bits and pieces
how will long can we take a piggy back ride? Unless you drive the innovation and manufacture on your own , your letting someone else dictate your future. Bits & pieces are not good enuf. We need to take control of our own destiny.

-we will be fine
All the technology right from consumer,medical,auto....etc used by third world countries get are not latest & greatest. Third world countries always end up being 2 or 3 levels behind the latest one in western world. This not only impacts quality of life but also our capacity to save lives. Latest advances in nuclear technology can power more homes. Technology should be used lift more ppl out of poverty.

Try buying a pacemaker or other critical medicine you will know the price of technology these countries have to pay.

Hi,

Well look at what has happened to the west after outsourcing their jobs---. They are suffering at our exoense---I think that we better lay low before they wake up and take those jobs backs.

Western companies are smart they give only low end jobs that generate less value. They simply dont want to spare time and resources for it. A small chip like intel processor being worked upon by 100ppl has more value than a 100 kg iron block smelted at a refinery using 1000 ppl else where. Look at financial consulting its a job where most money is made. Now where you see good jobs going offshore. Right from nano-technology to advanced weapons its in western countries.

By selling 10 warplanes they can generate more revenue using less manpower. To buy those warplanes third world countries have to put in more dollars(again western) generated by more ppl and finally bankrupting themselves. This is nothing but in-visible colonialism where one barters resource for effort only because they are not good enuf to do it on their own.

reading this thread, especially comments such as some of those obviously well meaning posters such as @MastanKhan I am saddened that the slave mentality has not been rid of completely. Apart from the obvious jealousy mildly visible in such posts, the more underlying issue is the refusal, actually inability, to accept that current Indians and pre-independence Indians are only good for directed labor.

The right term is FABRICATED in India----. Technically these are fabrication facilities and not manufacturing facilities---regardless of if they are in china, india, pakistan or elsewhere.

You only partnership in this venture is manpower trained by boeing---and the same would go for other countries.

Now if it is entertainment system from Japan---okay--it is manufactured by Japan---if it is avionics from France, italy or britain---okay they are manufactured by them---because they design and manufacture them for their own utility as well.

Fabrication process is a subset of the manufacturing process. Within the industry, the "Manufacturer" is the producer of the product in its final form before being delivered to the customer---. Fabricators are involved in making sub-components of the finished product and could be either internal or externally sourced.

Fabricators produce the design provided to them---which may also mean as providing machinery, training and specification to fabricate the product---or the fabricator may have machinery that meets the specified needs of the manufacturer.
Wrong, the correct word is manufacturing. TAL manufactures the spine of the Boeing dreamliner. Fabrication in Aerospace and other manufacturing industries includes the welding, forming, cutting... of metals. The skill required for a worker in fabrication is much more higher than a worker in a manufacturing line. Ex. of products of fabrication- Metal missile casings, rocket nozzles, ships, boilers and pressure vessels, etc. In case of manufacturing, jigs and fixtures reduce the skill and time required for production.
In this case, Boeing is the client/main contractor and TAL is the sub-contractor, all the specs of the spine are provided to TAL. TAL is not the designer, they only made a bid for the part along with others sub-contractors, and based on the lowest bid and other reasons they were selected to manufacture the product. End of story.
I didn't get this info off the internet, I know this as I have worked in the Aero industry.
