I'm still unsure how to get Starlink to work.
Basically, you buy a Starlink dish and install the mobile app, put it up and it will get signal everywhere on the globe, or only in certain countries?

A lot of requirements.First you need to be in a location where the satellite coverage is adequate. The constellation is not fully up so there are gaps.
Second you need to be in a country that gives permission to use a Starlink dish since you are transmitting signals that theoretically could be interfering with other established service frequency spectrums (possibly even emergency services).
Third there are two subscriptions. One is for a fixed location while another allows you to put the dish wherever you want (even on top of a moving vehicle). Again the second version part is more tricky as you are now actively moving and potentially crossing the frequency stream of other established services. This may be harder to be allowed in many countries. In the US the Dish Network recently lost their case of claiming a moving Starlink transmitter/receiver could interfere with the reception of their established customer's roof satellite dishes.
If your country passes all the above you should be able to connect your phone using wi-fi to the Starlink dish hotspot and be ready to go.
