Space Program: Should Pakistan Team up with Turkey in Satellites and developing a Launch Vehicle

Pakistan Nuclear Program (tactical weapons) are seen to be under possible discussion during prime minister's upcoming visit to the US, and the ground work is being laid to "normalize" Pakistan's weapons program; which would also mean its missile forces.

Having said that, Pakistan maybe able to focus on its space program without suspicion its developments are toward ICBM development. Pakistan currently lacks the funds, but is primed to a good location for north/south launches, and even some eastward launches over water. Turkey is a nation that is going into space technology in a big way. should Pakistan approach turkey with an idea for a joint space program, Pakistani launch vehicle; lifting Turkish satellites.

at a recent defense show, in china; a small launch vehicle was displayed. although not "for sale"; aid in launcher technology as Russia did for India, could allow Pakistan to launch the lower end satellites into space, and as turkey needs go up, they stick to china for the heavier launches from Hainan Island's new launch facility.

this could appeal to turkey, especially for its sensitive military launches; observation satellites. Pakistan can get access to Modern Western space technologies Turkey has access to. Pakistan in turn needs access to modern western surveillance and communications satellite technology, and China in turn could learn a thing or two from the Turkish/Pakistan Program, and therefore maybe willing to give Satellite launch vehicle technology.

This is after an interesting discussion between Peter Lavoy and General Khalid Kidwai discussing the space program, and as he mentions, If Pakistan does a lunar mission, that would elevate its ranks in global technological prowess, and make him and the nation proud.

My personal opinion-nothing will come out of this.
Turkey can get launch technology elsewhere, without accepting such a rotten deal where they have to pass information along the line which would eventually end in China.

Last launch was from Kazakhstan. Turkey should ditch them and hand over the tech to Pakistan for a launchpad so China can appreciate Pakistan more. Even if we were so naive our tech companies would be blacklisted. Turkey is already provided in Kazakhstan. They are politically on the same line as Turks. I don't think we are going to change that.

The basic premise, that the Chinese need to learn something is flawed. They are going the correct route of setting up academies and building and testing their tech. What tech could Turkey or Pakistan provide, which the Chinese do not either know themselves or possess the ability to receive from Russia?

Worth a shot to throw the idea out there

The Idea was that Pakistan has a coastline perfectly suited for southward launch, if the Turks launch some satellites; usually north/south ones are observation satellites, they would have a clear flight path over the Arabian sea. The Turks could launch their own satellites (basically Pakistan lets the Turks borrow the launch pad). In turn the Turks could build a few modest communications satellites for Pakistan would have different architecture then one Pakistan already has with PakSat 1R (Chinese Design). The Satellite's operation might be of some interest for the Chinese, as the Turks follow a western style, and have experience with joint operations with other nations. Its not the satellite, but the way its used that might interest them.

The Chinese offered their HQ-9 SAM System to The Turks. The Fears Nato Raised about integration with the NATO Air Defense Networks and Patriot System showed this "software" issue, and not "hardware" issue worried them. It was the Interoperability that worried them.

A Turkish/Pakistani Satellite/Launcher Program would revitalize Suparco, offer the Turks a customer in the form of Pakistan, and create a stand alone program (not connected to Turkish communications, and European/US/NATO system by extension) that could be a qualitative asset Pakistan has that would be something china can observe. It wouldn't be technology transfer, but just a different way of operations.

Pakistan could catch up this way in Hardware and operations; because as the General said providing secure communications and C4ISR is what the Pakistani space program should give the Pakistani military.
