Second South Korea's signals intelligence aircraft

The new signals intelligence aircraft based on the Falcon 2000 business jet was spotted in South Korea.

According to the local media, this is second intelligence aircraft based on the Falcon 2000 of the Republic of Korea Air Force.

Early, South Korea has bought two French planes with spy equipment capable of intercepting radio messages from North Korea and detecting its missile launches, the Defence Acquisition Programme Administration said in a statement in the beginning of 2017.

The planes, part of the enhanced Baekdu program, were retrofitted in the US and received a set of special equipment.

The new aircraft is a militarized specialty version of the popular Dassault Aviation Falcon 2000 business jet, with antennas added along the fuselage and radar/camera protrusions fore and aft. It is used by South Korea for tactical reconnaissance, surveillance and SIGINT (SIGnals INTelligence) tasks, and 8 specially-equipped aircraft were delivered in 2000. They are believed to be forward-based at Seongnam.
