Basically South Asians were brought over a few centuries ago by the British to work in clerical and administrative roles because blacks weren't capable. When the British left South Asians, through industry and intelligence, started dominated the economy. Lazy blacks started crying racism and their God King Idi Amin gave South Asians 72 hours to leave the country. Uganda's economy collapsed because South Asians made up the bulk of the businessmen, doctors, and large-scale farmers and since they had all been kicked out there was no one left to work.

I was in Kampala a few years ago and I was surprised to find that there is still a sizeable South Asian community in Uganda. In fact, they are still a force in the Ugandan economy.

You completley missed the point. The point I was trying to make was just because he had an Asian friend doesn't mean he wasn't racist against Asians.

Sakra come on man....They could have booted out the white folk or at the very least made their lives a living hell. Mandela went beyond that and urged reconciliation. Asians are held in high esteem by Black South Africans due to their support for the ANC and against the apartheid movement, in actual fact many Asian folk hold influential positions in South Africa.
As for Kenya, they gave a choice either Kenyan citizenship or British, the ones who picked Kenyan citizenship were relatively safe. However I do agree that they did go through hardship such as the riots in the early 80's but as of recently the government announced that the Asian community would be the official 44th tribe in Kenya i.e. recognising them as part of the nation and its history.

Indians were racist to Africans during the British Era and still are.

Even your Gandhi is known to have said disgustingly racist remarks against Africans.

They were mostly Hindus, many of them from South India.

Indians were settled by the British throughout the colonies, especially in the Caribbean region.

Chamars, Churas and etc... (who are originally from Central and South India) were also settled by the British in the undivided Punjab region.
