Bro if you had read Ottoman history you would have known that the non secular Ottomans had capitulated to the west and had it not been for Ataturk, Turkey as we know it today would not even exist. (

Izmir would be Smyrna (Greek), Ararat would be Armenian, Edirne would be Bulgarian. Only a small portion of Northern Anatolia was being given to the Turks as their homeland. The rest would have been divided amongst their neighbours. So this point is a bit nonsensical to make. Granted that everyone should respect the democratic will of the Turkish people and if that means Erdogan then so be it, but one should not engage in intellectual dishonesty in order to belittle the "opposition". The seculars have played a large part in not only making sure that Turks never became a colonized people, they also made Turkey the strongest nation in the Muslim world financially and industrially.
