Solar border wall at the Pakistan Afghanistan border

Recently , Donald Trump has suggested that a solar border wall could be built at the US Mexico border.

In Pakistan we are facing three issues

1. Shortage of Electricity
2. Insecurity due to India and Afghanistan using the open border to create unreset
3. India and Afghanistan blaming Pakistan

The challenges in building a border wall are that is can cost too much

However if the investment for electricity generation can be combined with the security requirement then we are achieving two objectives together.

Its an out of the box idea but one which needs to propagated for serious consideration

The approach is not without issues but if done this way at least it will not be just about the wall , which is not not ideal

Ideally Pakistan and Afghanistan should just get along and we should have enough electricity that load shedding is not needed but neither is happening so a solution that can tackle both it better than tackling each separately

Yes there are many considerations but it can be made viable through creating requirements , reviewing them and iteratively addressing the concerns before proceeding to implementation

the biggest problem I have with the design is durability. i can already picture a terrorist ramming into it with a truck or them firing a RPG-7 or SPG-9.

My vote is for solar powered drones. Way cheaper, creates jobs, gives a birds-eye-view, and less maintenance.

A creative idea, but not feasible. This wall will cost a lot of money, but will also be susceptible to attacks. Focus must be to build a cheap and effective wall to keep out Afghan miscreants and their mischievous backers.

what is the current position to fence the pak-afghan border? i heard that pak army is planning to fence the border why we are wasting time? and still debating how to secure border.. we all know it is difficult to fence but we don't have choice we have to deal with it.
Phase I... mine & fence the hotspots where militants are crossing border.. first Pakistan have to secure pak-afghan border then it will be easy to handle those terrorist living inside Pakistan.. because when you cut off the chain,supply and movement of terrorist wings across the border then you will be able to handle the inside terrorist otherwise they will keep on moving from one side to another.

Phase II.. deploy the border management surveillance using radar and satellite.

don't forget that we have also open border with india along sindh and open border with iran too.. you cant expect from other countries to protect your border, just do 3d google map and see that india has already highly secured her border with fencing using satellite system,militarily.. what we have been doing for 70 years ?

The US mexico border is going to be a very costly affair for the USA. I bet it will be a headache for Pakistan to build it (money wise). They do have the advantage of China's cheap and effective building strategies and maybe cheaper local labor. But the thing is, Mexico has a history of illegal crossings into USA (Which is the driving force here for the wall). is Pakistan facing something similar with Afg? I thought Pak already hosts Afg as "refugees" and gives them status. then why to build a wall?

if its a security thing, then soldiers and guns make more sense than a wall.

And don't forget ground surveillance Radar with 24/7 UCAVs surveillance , with some satellite monitoring . Don't worry about cost , Security is more important , Now Pakistan First.

Luckily the fence is being built. There is a reason why the Americans and Afghans are so panicky about it.
