Yes...tejas is not inducted. But it's our own. Not a cheap quality low grade fighter which is not even inducted by the partner country.

True. Russia is far more reliable in that respect anyday. Even MRCA won't be that reliable.

Just how many fighter jets is India planning to acquire?

In addition to the MRCA contract and 250 Sukhoi/HAL FGFA(which will be signed sooner or later as HAL is in the mix) that are done deals;

you also have HAL Tejas,the Americans offering F-35 Lightning II for Naval tryouts,an Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft in the works and not to mention the current fleet of Su-30MKIs that will not be phased out anytime soon.Are we hoarding or expecting an apocalypse?Not that I am complaining

pearls before swine....i'll wait for tejas to even have ONE prospective buyer, i'll wait for it to be on flying/static display at at least one reputable international air show. I'll wait to see such things before reaching the conclusion that it's a premium, high quality, high grade advanced fighter jet.

The reason behind not retiring Mig21 is to counter Jf-17's even its crash rate is high. Let the falling ones fall and we have good ejection systems to save our pilots. The remaining ones will be useful for air superiority against Jf-17's.

Tejas in actual has no future unless a showcase design for kids excursion, where question about ties with Russians then it is fact that India becomes a iron ore dump place at cost of gold. Before this dump facility was used by Russians and now EU & US found chances to utilize.

Mig-35 surely will get buyer from south Asia, and Russia will get worth of MIG-35 deal from FGFA. Lets see.
