SNC and a bridge for Bangladesh

A joint CBC News investigation shows the bribery scandal surrounding Canada’s SNC-Lavalin is even more extensive than first reported, with its own special code involving several foreign countries.

Denial is not the answer and PM Hasina should know it. It is clear to all that there were corruption or at least conspiracy for corruption. Conspiracy for corruption is also a crime and it is no way allowed in any country. It would be better for her to take action against Abul instead of saying World Bank we dnt need you and making the whole southern people sufferer. It was massive corruption by Tareque Zia and his notorious hawa bhabhan where 10% commission business used to be carried out was the ultimate reason why BNP was ousted from power. Hope she is not looking for the same for her and Awami League.

Our prime minister is a very (un)talented liar :enjoy:

She doesn't need to worry about that.

PADMA BRIDGE GRAFT ALLEGATION
Hasina denies family members’ link
STAR ONLINE REPORT

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina talks to CBC correspondent Terence McKenna during an interview.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has rejected the suggestions that members of her family and party, Awami League, were involved with corruption in Padma bridge project.

In a 15-minute interview with Canadian television CBC, which was aired on Thursday, she said that graft allegations regarding the Padma bridge project were not true.

“The World Bank itself said that there has been no corruption, only conspiracy of corruption,” she said.

The $2.9 billion Padma bridge project was put on hold after the World Bank refused to provide with funds following an allegation of “a conspiracy to exchange bribes”.

When asked by CBC correspondent Terence McKenna about the evidence found by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), the premier dismissed the fact by saying that it was not “substantial evidence”.

Regarding involvement of her party men and family members in the scandal, she said that such claims are completely false and are “all concocted”.

She also said that the scandal did not strain the country’s relation with international donors.

“Other projects of World Bank in the country are going smoothly,” she added.

The CBC correspondent termed the then communications minister Syed Abul Hossain as the ‘fund collector’ for Awami League, which Hasina also refuted.

“He was in no such position in the party. If anyone says so, it is wrong, completely wrong,” Hasina said.

The premiere also said the bridge is important for the economy of the southern region of the country.

“Awami League is working very hard to develop the country,” she insisted.

Corruption is now part of our society (We made it abstract art)...we accepted corruption as
national pride and happy with it...So why question of corruption ???

cernventure:
Very soon we need a university of corruption, for this abstract art of corruption.

If that university is to be opened, they better offer PhD programs in Abstract Art of Corruption.

Our lovely ministers would love it
