Already mentioned before. They want to keep the skin intact, and can't be bothered with lethal injection because it costs money so used this inhumane method instead.

Lets not get into the China/east Asia blame trap.All that will do is make the members from those countries defensive & point out that Indians & west are not exactly angels.

Lets just agree that this is unnecessarily cruel without getting into moral sermonising. Cruelty like this cannot be justified simply because there is no reason for it. The animals should have been gassed or put to sleep in a more humane fashion & I'm sure the Chinese members agree on that as well.

Denmark has a large fur producer which use CO2 to choke the animals before they skin them.
If it was up to me, all fur producers should be skinned and hung over someones shoulders.

Even killing by using CO2 is also much more painful, It must take 30to 45 minutes for animal to die.... They should find any other way so that animals feels less pain and it must be quick too, may be by strong anesthesia or strong poison..

If it was up to me, all fur producers should be skinned and hung over someones shoulders.

and should be thrown in front of dogs and other animals to enjoy their meat.

Why are we getting into a China versus India versus the west versus Asia argument? Please do not make it that.

I think everyone in this thread is in agreement that to kill animals like that..as shown in the first video..is beyond inhumane. Cruelty to animals..India, Pakistan, China or the West is unacceptable.

Man is a meat eater..there is no denying it. But are we the only creatures in this world who inflict deliberate torture on other living things?

By the lord above, I have never used fur..now I swear I will neither use it nor allow anyone in my family to use it.

Have you seen how Kosher and Halal meat are prepared??? It's extremely cruel and inhumane, causing the animal a SSSSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWWW PAINFUL DEATH. But of course this is okay because "God said it was okay"...

Here in the west, the animal is stunned by a stun gun before it is even cut to bleed. The stun gun immediately destroys the animal brain leaving its brainstem intact! Tha animal doesnt even know what hit it. So technically it is brain dead but the brainstem is still intact to ensure the normal functioning of the heart and lungs till it is bled out and then killed.

So whatever meat you get in stores in US is actually halal meat!

CO2 is an efficient way of killing animals humanely! US animal research guidelines do recommend the use of CO2 for killing animals because it is painless and does not make the animal suffer.

but muslims prefer zabihah, which meaning cutting the throat of a halal animal to a certain extent that it doesnt damage the spinal nerve and the blood keeps pumping out.

My roomie (a Kashmiri Muslim) initially used to buy halal meat from an Egyptian trader in town (he makes some really awesome Falafal and Hummus!). We all roomies used to eat that meat. But then, some of his colleagues, many Muslims and surprisingly a Jew, told him that meat available in US stores is actually halal/kosher and since then he buys meat in the regular grocery store.

Yes, stunning destroys the brain of the animal, but does not destroy the brain stem (or the starting point of the spinal cord). The basic physiological functioning of the animal's organs are intact and the animal is bled through a cut in the neck. Later when the blood is drained, then the animal is sacrificed and cut up for meat!
