Sissi said: "Egypt does not conspire on anyone, and its goal is only development, construction and reconstruction," directing his speech to the countries of Sudan and Ethiopia.
He added: "Egypt never fights its brothers, and our people are the priority with the money spent otherwise on conflicts."
"We are keen on peace and development, and arming the Egyptian army to maintain our national security."
This came Monday, during the opening by the President of a number of national projects.

Great decision. Such law (as unrealistic as it is currently) should be introduced in every single Arab country.

Let us see how the law will function de facto.

Criticism should in return only be labelled at governments and people in power.

Otherwise it will only serve foreign agenda and give root to unnecessary division between brothers and sisters. Only our enemies will gain something from such behavior.

The new generations in Sudan have been brought up in a media and education system that fosters hatred of Egypt and Egyptians . I am talking here about people burn after 1970 which forms the majority of Sudan .

Mostly Sudanese Arabs are the ones who hate Egyptians but people from Darfur , Kordufan and Eastern Sudan have no issues with Egyptians , these are mostly African Sudanese people . The same applies on South Sudan people there mostly have cordial ties with Egypt and most of their ministers studied in Cairo .

The only solution in Sudan is that a civil war breaks out and the government starts slaughtering Sudanese people only then they will realize their real enemy is the government and forget about Egypt. The economic situation in Sudan where the price of bread reached 1.5 pounds is pushing people to protest against the government.

Sisi gave these statements because he knows Sudan is in crises right now with weekly protests against government latest harsh austerity measures. The government in Sudan is trying to divert people attention away from current economic crises but till now it seems it has not worked and sisi statements will certainly make the Sudanese government position harder .

The Egyptian media should stop handling any news related to Sudan and stop making fun of them , the next period sudan will enter into complete chaos and eventually they will destroy themselves thanks to the MB government ruling them.

These are real facts and there are others.. like looting of gold, armed gangs and many other trouble makers..Sudan has great potential.. hopefully the economy will get better.. i think that poverty in this transitional period does not help.. it of course generate hatred of ones own country and thus others.. with time..reforms and improvement of life in Sudan will change these behaviours..

It's very strange that a former military army chief of staff didn't know the rules to running for president and that he would have to give up all his military standings and qualifications. I find that extremely bizarre.

I don't think anyone will have a chance against Sisi, I agree, but that's the problem with these other things that happen. The whole world is watching, SC bro, and they can't show even a glimpse of trying to manipulate these elections. They even need to go out of their way to show that they're being run fair and square. If there is no chance of beating Sisi, then let it take its course and avoid anything like the below from happening.

Once you see these things coming out, there will be the usual doubt cast on the fairness or legitimacy of the elections and then we're back to square one. Sisi doesn't need to win by a 97% margin. Let the elections proceed in a fair manner and all he needs is 51% and he's in.

That is the sad state of the Arab league member state elections..register to run and you end up in jail or the winner is know a year before the election, with stuffed ballot boxes made to order..
Egypt is going to live with Sissi for the next 40 years unless the US says otherwise..

I totally agree with you bro on these issues, it is obvious that Sissi only needs 51% to win the next elections.. and that can be seen in a positive way by other observers..still there are rules for candidates to elections all over the world..what is not clear though is how come, all or most of these Egyptian candidates do not qualify, ignore the rules or have law suites against them and they try to avoid them by gaining legitimacy and immunity through presenting themselves to presidential candidacy..it is a pity that no one candidate has been able to present himself "normally".. Not his fault but the rules are structured so that the advantage goes to the incumbent. The campaigning process is faulty on many levels, most of all the timeline allowed for candidates to collect and submit their required endorsements which is also another issue in of itself. Acquiring a percentage of endorsements from a group that most likely doesn't want you to be president is absurd. They need to fix and amend this rule.

The timeline to gather the required endorsements makes it almost impossible for any candidate to get in. It's much easier for the incumbent to get that than anyone who's outside of the government. The process is flawed without question.

Ali claimed that several serious violations took place during the nomination phase of the electoral process, including the theft of his nomination endorsements, adding there "was a lack of cooperation from the National Elections Authority (NEA) in sharing with Ali the total number of endorsements collected."

Ali, a former candidate in the 2012 presidential elections, also said that the nine-day timetable set for gathering the endorsements required for nomination was "unfairly short."

Hopeful candidates must receive endorsements from a minimum of 20 MPs or 25,000 citizens from at least 15 governorates, with at least 1,000 endorsements from each governorate. The timetable set to collect endorsements has been set for 20 to 29 January.
