Sir, normally is used in Pakistan as a term of respect and less as a title of honor like in the UK.

Sir was an honor bestowed by Britisher to Indians who were loyal to the crown in preindependence era. Indian constitution banned that word to be used officially. I do not know about Pakistan. I think that the word is used by Fanboys of Imran to respect him more than what he deserves.

I know what Sir means... , and I know a fair bit of British and Raj history myself, it was not just awarded to Indians during the RAJ, it was awarded to anyone in the commonwealth, and it is still awarded to British citizens and expats who further the cause of the British Nation.

Now coming back to PAKISTAN. Sir, is a common prefix applied to people as a term of respect rather than a title to elevate social status. In Pakistan, students will often call their teacher sir xxxx as a term of endearment and respect.

Just because i call my ustad Sir. Zaheer out of respect, it does not mean he was Knighted by the Queen.

Now enough about the title and please can we get back to the TOPIC.
