how many F-15SG in service?Singapore Arm Forces are widely love, despised and hated by the people. We need a defence force but meanwhile, we abhor our astronomical defence budget. We envy and loath the scandalous remuneration of the arm forces personnel. Given a choice, we would prefer a leaner defence spending, and allocate more resources to healthcare and providing comfortable retirement for the senior citizens.
Surrounded by Malaysia which is increasingly radicalized and Indonesia, a secular but sometimes volatile country, Singapore have no choice but to build up our defence capability. Nevertheless, most people would still want to trim our defence spending.
There is an under-representation of Malay Muslims especially in the elite units. Singaporean citizen have been trying very hard to integrate Malay into the military even though we are always being threatened by Malaysia. The situation improves tremendously over the years. The Indians are well represented and even over represented especially in the NCO corps.
Singapore strives to be a non-racist country where everyone can worship freely without being harass.
