‘Sindhi heroes to be included in syllabus’

KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq announced that the Education Department will include information about Sindhi heroes in the syllabus. Addressing the Sindh Assembly session on Wednesday, Haq said, “The previous governments removed information about Sindhi heroes who struggled for the establishment of Pakistan. This act was a conspiracy against Sindh.” Haq said that the Education Department will restore the syllabus that carried information about the heroes of Sindh including GM Syed, Hasan Ali Afandi, Syed Miran Muhammad Shah and others that were removed from the educational syllabus by the previous government. He also said that chapters about the life of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Shahnawaz Bhutto will also be included in the syllabus. Answering questions by the assembly members he said, “The previous government created a dangerous conspiracy by limiting heroes of Sindh in the syllabus to the districts where they belonged to but this will be changed.” Giving an example in this regard, Haq said that Syed Alahando Shah belonged to district Naushero Feroze and a chapter on him was only included in the text books of this particular district. The education minister went on to say that the last government shifted a Sindhi language lesson about Abdul Karim Bulari Waro, the grandfather of Sufi Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, from class three to class five and added that this action will also be restored. Referring to the historical names of various educational institutes of the province, he said that in the past, several names of historical buildings were changed including the Dewan Naval Rai Academy (where Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq himself studied) and Sadhoo Heeranand. He revealed that the original names of these buildings will also be restored. Replying to a question about the promotion of lower grade officers in the education department to posts of a higher grade, the minister said that in the past, several officials were promoted to a higher grades because there was a dearth in the number of high grade officials in the department. “In order to resolve the issue of promotion and On Pay Scale (OPS), we have decided to create a Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) that will meet every month on the district level to resolve matters pertaining to the promotion of officers till grade 16 and after every three months, the DPC will meet to resolve the matter of promoting officials above grade 17,” he added.....

Yes not bad Punjab should also teach punjabis about its heros like Dullah Bhatti, Sardar Khan Kharal etc etc

What the hell?Why did they add Benazir Bhutto in the list?Did they add her name in corruption related chapter?Also i don't think they should add name of politicians like ZA Bhutto.TBH no politician except Quaid Azam and Liaqat Ali Khan deserve place in Books

What are they doing??
Which kind of provincial autonomy is this.
This more of provoking another skirmish between the provinces.

i dont say that Puynjabis have 'better' heros or the Phaktuns are more brighter, the thing that matter is who has done guud for Pakistan.

A merit list should be made of all those 'heroes' and then added to a common syllabi.

i know all of the heroes would not fit in our books, therefore i propose of a merit list. The top brass goes to the books, that's it.

Today if all the provinces start narrating tales of their 'own' heroes only, then it would not be far that we would also start arguing about whose Mr Hero was better then others.

BTW the one who added a Sub-nationalist like GM Syed in the list of heroes can't be sincere for the larger guud of Pakistan.
