I can say one thing if Tamilnadu Tamils go against India, Sri Lanka will be the first country who give support to Indian government. Indian government knows that too

Sinhalas and Tamils in Sri Lanka have failed to evolve as a nation, not the case with Indians, Indians accepted multi-ethnic society based on the principle of 'unity in diversity'. North Indians and South Indians always have deep understanding.

while the majority Sinhalas always tried to curb Tamil political influence and their culture.

In 1950 India made 14 official languages while Sri Lanka's Sinhala majority unilaterally made Sinhalese as only official language and tried to enforce it on Tamils.

LOL,wasn't that you people doing to your ethnic minorities all these years.A third of Srilankan Tamils are living outside Srilanka and next target are Moors.Their persecution has already started.I bet the next insurgency in Srilanka will be a Muslim one.

Sinhala and Tamil cultures are intertwined there cannot be curbed if anybody have an iota of true knowledge of the island or have at least visited it once would know about it, Hindus and Buddhists worship together, Inter marry, And work together like any other society.. The barrier was the language and the rigid caste system in the Jaffna Vellaya ruling class that did not want to let go of their sense of superiority.. No other country has a language that's spoken by 10% of it's population as an official language.. Sri Lanka has it

Sure there are some huge issues remaining to be solved specially implementing whats in the constitution.. Then again which post colonial developing nation doesn't? Mate one need to have it's house in order before accusing it's neighbours

14 official languages, aren't they consider as regional languages? Then why Hindi and English only?

That's wrong misunderstanding. Some Tamils mention that as "Sinhala Only Act", but that's was "National Language Act" which was brought to remove English.
Now both are official languages and we aren't living in 1950s still.

@Gibbs doesn't pakistan have urdu as its language even though half of the population is Punjabi, and over 70% understand and speak it?

Not only Indians, many more countries helping us. Indians are doing railway projects at the moment. Roads and other major infrastructure projects by China. Pakistan did some drinking water projects in northern province. Thanks to all of them.
But Tamilnadu fishermen are catching our northern Tamil fishermen's catch entering to SL waters. Few weeks ago both had a fight in mid sea. you don't hear these kind of news in TN media right? lol
