?

That is a ridiculous reason..There where are watching videos stuff?? Is daily motion and other sites are allowed

Bhai, this has NOTHING to do with the Mullah. They have ZERO power! The ban is disguised under religious symbolism, but the real reason is political and CONTROL of Information!

Why isn't Murry Beer factory closed?
Why isn't Heery-Mundi closed?
Why hasn't Ghair-Musharaf the hypocrite been arrested (not house arrest)?
etc, etc

Sab chute hain!

No the ban should never be lifted . Do you guys have any shame???? They insulted your paighambar Mohammad . I say even Google should be banned as it owns YouTube . What kind of Islamic republic would it be if it allowed people to peddle such anti-mohammaden sh*t.
I would say ban fans , TV , bulbs , fridges . heck even ban electricity , railways , etc as they were invented by anti-islamic westerners . We should all follow in the footsteps of Mohammad (pbuh). I am even contemplating marrying a 6 year old to be a real devotee of Mohammad.

Plus: Almost anyone can access youtube from proxy anyway, so is it high time we should Reopen Youtube and ban from Jihadi propaganda websites?

Thoughts? Vote & Discuss .

ISLAMABAD: YouTube will remain blocked 'indefinitely' in Pakistan, a government official said Saturday as experts failed to find a way to filter content deemed offensive and blasphemous.

The video-sharing website has been blocked in the country since September 2012 over its hosting of the “Innocence of Muslims”, a movie that sparked furious protests around the world.

The Supreme Court ruled at the time that the site should be banned until a way was found to block all blasphemous content.

“[The] matter was reviewed several times but the situation effectively remains the same,” the minister for information technology and telecommunication Anusha Rehman told the Senate Friday.

“The government does not want to take any chance and wants to make sure that after the unblocking YouTube, no offensive content remains viewable in Pakistan,” a senior government official said.

“So far no tool or solution has been found which can totally block offensive content, that is why YouTube remains blocked and it will remain so indefinitely,” the official said.

Free speech campaigners have long complained of creeping censorship in the name of protecting religion or preventing obscenity, and have described the ban on YouTube as a violation of civil rights.

In November 2011, the telecommunications authority tried to ban nearly 1,700 “obscene” words from text messages, which included innocuous terms such as “lotion”, “athlete's foot” and “idiot”.

In 2010 Pakistan shut down Facebook for nearly two weeks over its hosting of allegedly blasphemous pages. It continues to restrict thousands of online links.

I don't think this is a shocker considering I'm sure all of us could easily find videos on youtube that could even get us banned from PDF.

Youtube should open in Pakistan now, I think even Saudia Arabia has opened it now ..

its open if you use tor or proxy its banned only for idiots

I think Youtube should not be opened, because our general public is not capable of handling any form of free speech.

you are prime example of those guys who will believe every thing told by mullah without even researching about it.so let me update your knowledge YouTube don't allow its users to upload ****.
I guess you are talking about p0rn. One can upload sexually explicit content on Youtube. I don't know what can be the exact definition of p0rnography, but if it is explicit content that you are talking about, then you will find them in Youtube.

A question for the YouTube protagonists: Would any of you ever buy from a shop, who's owner is hurling abuses at you, no na? then quite being hypocrites. The blasphemous content is not the problem the main issue is YouTube's anti Muslim stance. There are numerous examples where YouTube has removed insubstantial content under the pretext that it defies it's so-called "rules", but it wouldn't remove the anti-Muslim content because it qualifies for the YouTube's deformed "freedom of speech".
