What's new

Should we involve with Mig also for our second 5th gen light fighter.

The Russians are no longer a reliable option- look how much they are messing around on the FGFA project, why throw even more good money after bad?

IF India wants a foreign player involved in the AMCA then go with the French, Israelis or Japanese.

Nonsense.
May be its time to take a different approach with Russians and getting involved early in the development stage. At this moment its better to invite in a partner for our future programs. We will be busy with making LCA successful and it's future variants. I believe LCA is more important at this moment though AMCA has its own place, while looking at the state of affairs.

The Russians cannot be trusted to deliver on their side of the bargain that is the trouble- look at the mess the MRTA project is for further evidence.

Any of them plan to build a fifth gen fighter?

MKI is a heavy duty multi role aircraft with balence shifter to air to air mode, and maritime strike is also very important one since sea routes are the gate way of ours and our two important enemies. Now lets come to mig 29k and MKI both are using same kh series cruise missiles for anti shipping role,in this scenario MKI's powerful radar and its range of detection, aircraft's combat range will clearly beat 29k. Only area where mig is having advantage over MKI is later can't operate from India's present aircraft carrier.

Now we are in position to design and develop our own aircraft so better to concentrate on AMCA instead of going behind mig1.44.

AMCA first flight will not happen until 2030. If FGFA is not reliable, than India better get in line for F-35.

The Japanese do and the French will have to look at the possibility in the future as they are not part of the F-35 program (nor do they want to be) and the Rafale is only a 4.5+ gen fighter. Certainly they have the requisite expertise and industrial base to explore a next generation fighter. As for the Israelis, they are capable of building the requisite next generation electronics and would compliment India's current industrial base very well wherein India is able to produce the airframe and the Israelis can produce the avionics and such.

Why would any of them not working with Anerica or another European countries? Can India do anything better in aerospace industry than any of these countries?

India look like will play the role of jr partner.

Sure it can, looking to the future India has both the means (deep pockets) and the talent to build up expertise and become a player in its own right in the aerospace field. America is surely out ahead in this field but the Europeans are facing a huge financial drain, not to mention a potential lack of human capital- India can surely capitalise on this. Looking at the LCA program one can see that India has developed some impressive research, design, testing and production technologies and has laid a decent foundation for the future that can only be built upon.

The LCA was the first of its kind project and has turned out relatively successfully despite the mammoth challenges faced along the way. Now those challenges are behind India, much of the groundwork has been laid and India is that much more comfortable the only way is up.

The sketch looks very similar /same to the old Mig MFI 1.42 design. This was back in the day..circa early 90s when ruskies came to terms with teh yf22/yf23. But that never materialised, and with sukhoi being more promising, everyone went with sukhoi as the leader. Not sure if a 90s design should be brought back to life

No,
But we should order another 30 Mig29Ks
Mig is planing to base this new jet on MIG 35 which is actually Mig 29M2, Mig 35 (Mig 29M2) Is advanced version of Mig 29K. So literally let's say a 5th gen Mig 29K on the plan.

Agreed it does'not look good at all.

Was it that you just signed your post at the end??

or

You think that the T-50 or the Mig fifth generation program or the idea that IAF may want to for for the Mig as well or all of them are nonsense?

Well it is requested that you at least write what you want to say, complete, forget about explaining if that is too much at least do write the complete thing down or else people may confuse it to be your signature or something!
