The Russians are no longer a reliable option- look how much they are messing around on the FGFA project, why throw even more good money after bad?

IF India wants a foreign player involved in the AMCA then go with the French, Israelis or Japanese.

India wanted to join PAKFA project right in the designing phase to get experience is designing 5th gen aircraft but was unable to do so because by the time India was offered joint development, PAKFA primary design had already been frozen.

This could provide another chance for that and also to suss out J 20 which is also based on the same primary design.

Mig 29k is made to perform in maritime role while Sukhoi is True air superiority fighter and multi role. Its capability is getting wasted in maritime role.We really need more mig 29 k for navy.

MKI is a heavy duty multi role aircraft with balence shifter to air to air mode,and maritime strike is also very important one since sea routes are the gate way of ours and our two important enemies.Now lets come to mig 29k and MKI both are using same kh series cruise missiles for anti shipping role,in this scenario MKI's powerful radar and its range of detection,aircraft's combat range will clearly beat 29k. Only area where mig is having advantage over MKI is later can't operate from India's present aircraft carrier.

Now we are in position to design and develop our own aircraft so better to concentrate on AMCA instead of going behind mig1.44.
