Ethnically Ukrainians are Russians. Ukrainian and Russian are regional dialects. For example, the word our is nash in both Ukrainian and Russian, the word thank you is spasibi in Ukrainian and spasibo in Russian. China has lots of regional dialects that are way different from each other compared to between Ukrainian and Russian, and I'm not talking about Mandarin and Cantonese. Does this mean China should be many countries?

In fact, it was the Middle Ages Russian state - Kievan Rus. It was united from 9th to 12th century. Well, as united, as were united all feudal states of Europe in those days.

You said that yourself. Starting poll here will not change anything. If Ukraine don't want to merge itself with Russia, then no one can.
We were part of India too.. Canada was once part of US to.. But then, Indian was never big one country and same case with US.
