Residents of Model Town, Lahore, were awoken with a bang on Monday morning as a car bomb explosion killed 11 people and injured 61 others near the FIA and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) buildings. The blast, according to law-enforcing agencies, was targeting the SIU building where terror suspects are interrogated, and has left an eight-foot-deep crater at the site.

Senior Minister Raja Riaz has already called for the removal of all offices, residential buildings, and interrogation centres used by the security agencies from residential areas in major cities.

Do you live near the site of the Model Town blast? Was your home, or the home of anyone you know, affected by the blast’s proximity? If you live in Model Town, what did you see or hear this morning? Do you think the facilities of security agencies should be moved out of residential areas?

No, but they should be setup that the surrounding houses are also occupied by security keeping watch. This is expensive of course.

I think we are talking of safe houses which should be not known to the mountain guys!
RAW is behind every news in Pakistan... such activities cannot be carried out without the help of foreign states.

Definately!

I've read reports from various websites saying that the locals residents of Lahore constantly asked for the SIU and FIA to be located elsewhere as they feared it would be attacked, why this call was not heeded is beyond me.

This is tantamount to the security services using civillians as human shields, somehow hoping that the civillians would act as a deterent.

If ISI want to interrogate people, im sure there's loads of outer city inconspicuous locations available.

Most of the govt. installations were out of cities back 20-30 yrs ago but with growth in population, these installations are in mid city.

Yes, we need to move these out of cities and it is not that hard because the govt. already own a lot of land, if the land of an installation is sold in city then I am sure that sufficient funds can be generated for the move of such facilities.
