If you want to shut down debate you can start with all the bakhts and zionists on this forum. Last I checked it was Pakistani defence forum, not enemies of Pakistan chat board.

This is not about shutting down debate. This is about stopping people from sending false information.

A good example would be somone posting a video or photo claiming that it shows ”A did B”.
Then somone finds that this is a video of something completely different and proves it
by providing a reliable link.
The poster then should remove his post, or if that is not possible, make another post, admitting that he was in error and apologize - or get a strike. If the post is still not removed/edited, another two strike for a ban.

Fake News in Original Post should be a reason to delete the thread.

Point out examples instead of making vague accusations.

There are plenty of others.

The example you posted is actual news reported by almost every media outlet in the world. Prove to us how Argentina not playing a friendly against Israel is actually fake news?

You need to change the title of this topic to:

Please don't post any news critical against Israel, the US and the West in general.

.
Plenty of people post stuff in threads or even start threads containing what can be proven to be fake news for propaganda reasons.
Should there be a rule that users have to remove such stuff voluntarily, once their stuff has been debunked?

You do know why this forum exist, right?

The Fake News is the claim that TyC Sports in Argentina has interviewed Messi about the cancelled game.
Martin Arevalo journalist @ TyC Sports has denied that such an interview happened, and THAT makes the stuff fake news.
The quote attributed to Messi are according to TyC Sports fake. He never said that.

That is not fake news, but different perspectives from two sides.

Fact remains that Argentina didn't play the friendly. Try calling that fake.

You do know why this forum exist, right?

Says the Hindu who crawls on this forum every second of the day LOL

If you don't like it here you are free to leave.

According to the zionist controlled media. How do we know he hasn't been threatened by Mossad?

The ”Zionist Controlled” = TyC Sports media is the source for your original claim.

If You are confident that you are right, you only need to find the tweet from Messi,
or the TyC Sports original article.
Instead you use a tweet from an unknown claiming Messi was interviewed by TyC Sports and said this and that as source.

You continue to defend Your Fake News unashamedly, without any logic consistency.
No wonder, you and @Dalit does not want posting of fake news to be banned.

I'm playing devil's advocate. Plenty of fake news gets posted on this site, it's 50% of the content. Anything printed by the zionists and thier supporters is lies. We have the bakht army propagating fake news in support of Modi, we've got the PMLN media cell, USCENTCOM post thier propaganda here, Chinese and Russian state owned media, VoA, most Pakistani papers... even the BBC has bias.

You people are only offended because we had Israel by the short and curlies for a couple of days.

Depends on the definition of fake. It's easy to find opposing views to any article. Pakistani media could say something and the Indian media can counter claim it the next day. A ban on fake news can only be truly implemented with guarantees.

Opposing views is one thing. Fake news is something else.
Posting a video or picture claiming it to be taken at a certain occasion,
and then someone provides a link to the same video or picture,
from an old article, with another explanation is the classical example.

There has been recent discussion on whether MBS is dead or not.
Quoting an article saying MBS may be dead is not fake news, it is speculation.
Quoting an article saying MBS is dead is fake news, if MBS turns up the next day.
If the post is reported, remove the post, and/or apologize and move on.
Banning only occurs if such a post remains without apology.
Quoting the same article weeks after MBS has turned up is worse.

In the case discussed in this thread, the fake news source is a claim that a sports network made and interview and during that interview Messi made statements. The sports network has denied doing that interview. That is definitely fake news.

I do not think whatever happens on the border between India and Pakistan will fit, unless an independent journalist happens to be present, and video is available.
There is a truth, and a lie if there are opposing views, but noone here is likely to be able to prove it.

No, You are supporting fake news, and seem to have the opinion that if someone has an opposing narrative, it is fake news.

I suppose such a system could be effectively imposed on clear cut examples like you mentioned, where there is an obvious truth easily available. It will rest on the mods to decide which threads are opposing views and which threads are fake news.

Yes, the big benefit is that the worst offenders will be terminated, and the rest may start to research claims made on Internet before making stupid statements.
The overall quality of PDF should improve.

Would be good to have an opinion from @WebMaster @Horus @waz

No I'm not, I'm challenging the credibility of the zionist owned media.
