Should Indians be forced to join the army?

oookaaay. . . so thats nothing different. . In Pakistan Army when a cadet is promoted to 2nd Lieutenant he still is under the process of training. He goes through a number of courses before going for a Unit Specialization Course. .

A regular and majority army officer goes through four years of training against two years in the case for Pakistan....after ant officer is commissioned, he too go through number of courses before going for a Unit Specialization Course


so at start the difference in training is of two years..

well in Pakistan you can become a proper member of ISI only if you are an officer of the armed forces. . through civil services one can go to FIA (Fedral Investigation Agency). . .

well RAW has 3 point entry system one direct recruits through exams, throught IFS/IAS/IPS and through armed forces.

r u sure civilians cant join ISI i thought that ISI has civilians too.

May be ISI takes only from armed forces. but it is not necessary intelligence agencies take from armed forces only. IMO best agents are diplomats ( IFS incase of india )who not only have immunity but also have a thorough knowledge of most countries and surroundings which they gain through experience. OK for the HIT teams, you need arms training, so officers from armed forces play a vital role there...

What rubbish! Many of my friends have experiences of something else! I do not want to go in details but getting IA, IN and specially IAF officer technical level jobs are one of the toughest and salary, facilities are high. Those are getting jobs in Siemens, CISCO, Microsoft, Tata or Oracle rejected by IA and IAF. I know many.

Yes thats true,the number of people appearing for the NDA and IMA examination's r 10 times more than the available seat's,yet they only consider those worthy who fit according to them,i have a friend who was rejected from Air force academy and have to settle as a violent in kingfisher,he still asserts,given a chance he will join AF.

Their is no such criteria,RAW can pick up people from anywere.a lot from the army also working for them,u can never predict the structure and functioning of such organization's,their r under cover agents,their r hit squad,u just cannot send and IAS officer to be part of a hit squad,their are different departments and work varies.

an official cover agent working in embassy with diplomatic immunity is not best. the best agents are those who work in enemy country with out any official cover or immunity and they know if they get caught the govt will simply turn its face away.

what makes u think field agents report to people sitting in embassy. too many spy movies.

each agent has a brief in hand. he is required strictly to go as per brief. the brief covers various aspects of operations including how the intelligence shall be passed to the agency.

Totally agree on brainwashing..... But there is a cure... You should start believing the truth and stop watching indian news....

ON serious note if you think you know my country better than me than you really are dreaming and dont know what you are talking about. Army does help govt where the govt ask for help. As the most organized and disciplined as compared to other departments in Pakistan it does help the govt in anyway possible. Be it training the police in CT ops or Building Kalabagh or Karakuram Highway or defending the nation or helping in flood relief....


And dont count the Marshall Laws as controlling the country in democratic era.... If thats the case then we can say Turkey is still run by their army....

it makes sense for need of army in relief work or much needed efforst at time of natural disaster or epidemic or help in case of emergency.

But to use as laborer in construction of highways and dams is totally out of my head.

In case you left to update yourself, let me put a small info in your ears.... Indian Army is the Largest Voluntary Army in the world...

Every country has at one time or another made conscription a solution for low military manpower even the US. India's case is no different....Let's forget democracy and focus more importantly on the pro's and cons's ......Let that weigh our decision. This could be a pivotal moment in India's future here on. As was posted earlier we have a huge pool of qualified applicants around 20 million per year. If we can use them efficiently, mold them properly, identify strengths and weaknesses and improve upon it....we can really make a new generation of not just regular military personnel but a creative, multifaceted force which can have long range implications in the growth of India. The key is having trained and disciplined military personnel who can identify various qualities in these youth and place them accordingly. This is a key area that will need constant training and scrutiny....but if done properly and efficiently we can identify certain skill sets or physical traits that can be advantageous to India. We can identify folks who may have certain qualities that make them superior in roles wrt covert operations (RAW) , or maybe we can identify qualities that would mesh well with the sciences or engineering......there is no background or individual quality that can be considered unworthy......even someone with a or fashion tailor background may be interested in clothing camouflage for the military.....whatever it is ...we need to develop their inherent strengths whatever it may be. Not to mention, we will have a many great ideas flooding the military that will give the armed forces completely new perspectives form different walks of life. Let's face it.....some Indians have more exposure to worldly views than others be it thru wealth, education, job, etc. This information could tactically change our doctrines and our forces into more efficient fighting forces. The possibilities are limitless and it has my brain gushing with blood thinking of the enormous benefits India can get. More importantly, India will have youth who are instilled with patriotism at training which may help our solve our regional divisions....make it a point to mix individuals from different religions and cultures together so that they see fist hand and make their own conclusion instead of relying on falsehoods. These youth could even become a sort of emergency volunteer force that can be called in times of national disaster. They can also keep an eye on suspicious characters like terrorists. Sure, money may be an issue....but food will be the biggest expense after weapons training which should be a priority (they will need much training than the Mumbai Police which I was 1x 2months I believe). This will be a bootcamp and they will need to live in inhospitable conditions, i.e. sleep on the dirt floor, etc. I also think this would be a key solution to the way different Hindu castes and other religions behave to each other....it allows less informed individuals to see that we are all Indian......What do you guys think?



I guess the Pakistani's have a point...you guys are just not patriotic enough....you don't have a fighting spirit.....it is always a good idea to learn how to fight.....and stand up for yourself and as a team....oh well lazy bastards took Anna a 80yr old man to kick start the anti corruption drive.....lazy pricks...
