Should India and Bangladesh form a security alliance?

Since India surrounds Bangladesh from all 3 sides and has good relationship with Bangladesh, should India sign a treaty with Bangladesh to protect it from external threats?

Its good for Bangladesh because it can become more economy focused and become a good import/export market for Indian companies and the people but it will lose its sovereignty.

Its good for India because India currently has military infrastructure in the region and in the India ocean but it will cost India money.

Think like USA-Japan relationship

I think Bangladesh and Myanmar are two countries in good positions to form a stability internal security and extradition alliance with India.

We can of course help them clear their misunderstandings and ensure that any of the three countries' terrorists don't get safe haven in the other.

As a start we should arrest Zakir Naik and hand him over to Bangladesh.

Secure border, economic alliance, visa free transit, lack of hostility, larger markets for Indian goods. US-Canada like relations.

so what will india get out of it?... we need alliance with nepal or bhutan to check chinese influence... no such need in bd..
also it will make us enemy of myanmar...
