Should Class X Board Exams Be Reinstated?

. .
I feel, that 10th grade exams were fine. We have two-three exams if I am not mistaken 5th, 10th and 12th grade board exam. Unless they have completely taken away the 12th grade board exam. I look at the 10th grade board exam as a deciding exam where you can find out, as to which area you are more inclined towards whether it be science, math or some other field.

I don't know but , it seems awkward to me. Yes there is pressure to perform but again 15 is not so tender age that one can't cope with that pressure. As per me grading system was just fine, it reduced pressure from pupils to large extent.

But I have no idea about how it is done in advanced countries. What I have heard is that from very childhood without wasting time in imparting basic knowledge in diverse fields they are allowed to pursue specific subject , which seems interesting to them.

Our education system needs reform to conform to the best known education systems around the globe. It takes time but gives very rich dividends.

well, I'm in 10th class and I know the reality. The pressure is almost the same. Though, students have the choice for opting board/non-board. I opted the later as I knew that this will help me a lot (psychologically!).

No offence but I disagree with the bolded part of your post, there are many Indian youth out there who have written their board exams & have no idea what they want to do with their life after the results come out(including me).
Some who even after getting into a college still have no idea what to do with their life..

Most students just see Class tenth results as a result which will determine which coaching institute you will get in & which batch of the coaching institute(the batch with the best teachers & so on...)

Or atleast that has been my experience/view till now.

I understand mate, even I was undecided in college until I got interested into engineering(ME), the point is that the 10th grade board result can give you a general idea as to if you are more inclined towards maths, science other other areas. I don't think it's a deciding factor but it does give you a gauge of your ability.
