That’s how the game is played. CNN has CNN international for world and different CNN for local audiences. To world US media preach justice and tolerance. Locally the broadcast hate, lies and sell prejudice. Specially channels like Fox News.

It has been the moral decay of the whole country for quite a long time. I feel contempt and sick watching some US kid movies on Disney channel, seeing kids quarrelling with their parents, talking as if they know all about virtually everything and doing stupid things in the name of "innovative / creative" and above all, the "me first" attitude.

Is there anyone who can be naive enough to expect these children to become future scientists, engineers, doctors or even a normal citizen who is useful to society.

True. They rather have their insurance pay their losses instead of getting lawsuit. Guess how insurance recoup money. Raising premiums for hardworking people.

I am surprised nobody talked about the real/primary issue here - excessive consumerism.

When a society promotes and practices nothing but consumerism, they first buy things which they need.

Then they buy things which is more than their need.

Then they buy things which they don't even need.

First they buy with cash, then with credit.

First they buy anything, then they buy more and more expensive brands.

In every society there are rich, not so rich and poor folks.

There comes a time when not so rich and poor folks want more stuff, more expensive stuff, more and more expensive stuff, stuff that they don't even need. Stuff which they can survive without. But no, their society promotes and practices excessive consumerism, So, they resort to, well, different means of getting stuff - drug dealing, robbery, theft etc etc. Stuff that they don't even need. And yet they get them.

Being content with what you have and minimalism is the way forward.
