What you are refusing to admit or accept is that Islam is a political religion, a political ideology.

70 years down the road. Congress is nowhere to be seen and there still a Muslim league movement ruling Pakistan.

To me it seems you guys have changed from secular Bharati to Hindu democracy. But Constitutionally still secular.

Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay who wrote Vande Mataram died in 1894.

The Congress party was only formed in 1885, and back then it was full of british bureaucrats and Indian collaborators.

But he was a fierce nationalist who inspired congress and help congress become a Nationalist party. In 1937 Congress adopted Vande Mataram as the National song.

So in effect, people like him were the "father" of the congress party.


Opportunists may survive, but they are opportunists because they have no vision beyond their immediate goal. They are not visionaries.

So they leave behind only death and destruction.

If I should be talking like a Sunni then Sufism is everything a Muslim is not supposed to do. Of course there are some traditional medicines and stuffs. With some magic. Praying to graves, celebrating birthdays of their saints.

They practice some Dikr, praying to Almighty, they have songs for everyone. Side by side all these they practice Islam too. But many of their acts are Shirk. There are Shia-sufi and Sunni-Sufi.

From an outsider perspective, they can be regarded as eternal seeking people. They don't have any acts of aggression in the history. Neither they have any rulers (I guess).

A R Rahman is thought to be a Sufism follower. Mainly because he is a convert as a result of a sufi saint who cured his mom's or aunts illness.
