Shocked Bangladesh cricket team escape Christchurch mosque shooting, 49 died, 20 injured

Yup agreed.

Newzealand cricket board acted unprofessionally. No matter how secured ur place is, u just can't allow a national team to visit on their own without providing them proper security.

Hopefully BCB will bring this matter in front of ICC in future.
I have one more theory ,, Just imagine if BD team members were inside Majid and now dead .. What will happen then , ICC have to cancel world cup...… Now contacts the dots

No cricket for NZ in future let these idiots know terror is a global issue running away is not option these basterds kiwis not pkaying in pak for security threats look how much threat they have in their newzealnd

.
Stupid NZ cricket board didn't provide them any security. They were almost on their own.

Can't believe that security of a national team can be that relaxed.

Excuse do you have any idea how things work in NZ or other developed countries

The BD cricket team is free to visit NZ. No one can provide them with special security unless there is a specific threat
If you think NZ is unsafe do not visit NZ

Bangladesh’s Australia mission confirms 3 expats death in New Zealand shooting

http://www.bssnews.net/?p=181369

DHAKA, March 15, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh’s High Commission to Australia so
far confirmed three expatriates’ death in New Zealand’s Christchurch shooting
at two mosques leaving 49 dead but feared attack to have critically wounded
several other Bangladeshis.

“Among the casualties (about 50) there are reports of death of three
persons of Bangladesh origin, and a few are critically injured,” the high
commission said in a statement.

It, however, added: “We still await details of them from the New Zealand
security officials and hospital authorities officially.”

Bangladesh does not have any embassy in New Zealand as Dhaka’s High
Commissioner in Canberra is concurrently accredited to the neigbouring
country.

But the statement said the Canberra mission kept in touch with
Bangladeshis in New Zealand and particularly in Christchurch directly and
through Dhaka’s honorary consul in Auckland and asked them to remain calm,
try to stay indoors and avoid places of congregation.

They were simultaneously asked to follow the directives of the New Zealand
authorities’ security directives against the backdrop of the situation.

“We are closely monitoring the situation through our Australia mission and
I have already directed our honorary consul in New Zealand to rush to
Christchurch from Wallington,” Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen earlier
told BSS.

He said Bangladeshi expatriates in New Zealand informed him that four to
five fellow countrymen were wounded in the near simultaneous attacks in the
two mosques.

“We will get details information about the condition of Bangladeshi
expatriates in Christchurch when our (honourary) consul reaches there” Momen
said.

The Canberra mission statement, meanwhile, said honorary consul Shafiqur
Rahman would reach Christchurch tomorrow morning to extend support to the
Bangladeshi victims.

“He may be contacted at his mobile phone number +64 21024 65819,” it read.

Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner to Australia Tareq Ahmed along with

a Consular officer will also proceed to Christchurch at the earliest
possible time tomorrow to provide all kinds of support, said the release.

A Bangladeshi woman killed in the terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand on Friday has been identified as Husna Ara Parvin, who was gunned down as she tried to save her paraplegic husband,

Husna Ara, originally from the village of Jangalhata in Sylhet’s Golapganj, lived in Christchurch with her paraplegic husband Farid Uddin Ahmed.

The Bangla Tribune reported that Husna Ara wheeled Farid to the mosque for the Friday prayers. The men’s and women’s sections were segregated, so when the shooting broke out, the couple did not know what the condition of the other was. According to Husna’s nephew Mahfuz Chowdhury, she rushed out 15 minutes into the shooting to check on Farid, when she was caught in the crosshairs and shot dead.

Husna and Farid married in 1994 and moved to New Zealand after a few years. They last visited Bangladesh 10 years ago in 2009.

Earlier on Friday, at least 49 people were killed in New Zealand’s worst terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch. At least three of the victims are believed to be of Bangladeshi origin.

These are just after incident. Still people did not have full picture of fatalities.
But what tweet was there for victims of this tragedy after getting full picture of fatalities ..It seem they were just concern about their own safety and they were never in danger any way because they were not inside the mosque ..so yes cricketers were lucky that they did not got in there but they should show some solidarity for those shaheeds because they were also dear to someone

Shut up and think for a moment before spouting rubbish. NZ cricket board invited BD and they were responsible for the safety of our national team. Nobody has asked that unprofessional board to deploy platoons of special forces to provide security to the Bangladesh cricket team. But u r bound to give basic security to the national team of a country. That's standard protocol. NZ cricket board was so unprofessional that it didn't bother to provide a single police officer with the team bus of a national cricket team.

As for the last part, If unprofessional NZ cricket board and its stupid board members r unable to provide basic security to the members of a national team they should stop inviting other teams altogether. U don't wait for an incident to happen to tighten up the security of high profile targets rather u take precautionary measures to ensure that such incidents don't occur in the first place. Got it?

Excuse me: NZ Cricket board can ask the NZ police to provide security at a public event. When the Bangladeshi sportsmen are alone as private citizens NZ police is not going to protect them unless there is a known threat. this is exactly the way things work in developed countries. your sportsmen are sportsmen. they are not national leaders or diplomats.
