Shiv Sena activists tore down poster the consider objectionable of upcoming Saif Ali Khan and Kareena flick ‘Kurbaan’ in Mumbai. The posters feature the back of a topless Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.

India.com reported that the activists claimed that the posters were immoral and would corrupt the mind of children who live in the locality where they are displayed. Shiv Sena leader Anil Parab, also confirmed that the posters were torn at Mumbai’s Juhu circle saying that 'putting up such posters in public places where women and children roam is not acceptable.'

Producer Karan Johar, however gloated in all the promotion this was giving Kurbaan and wrote on his twitter blog, 'really excited about the Dharma departure into another terrain of cinema... please watch Kurbaan for its new syntax.'

The film releases worldwide on November 20th and is about a professor played by Kareena who marries another professor Saif Ali Khan and settles in the US only to discover that he is actually a mastermind terrorist who is trying to hijack and bomb an airplane.

The film is getting a lot of attention for containing much unwarranted nudity and sex. Defending the controversial poster Kareena said ‘This shot of me in a backless posture and Saif with a wound on his chest tells so much about the film`s theme.'

Adding 'there is love, passion and violence - all combined in here and what better way than to show it through a single still? You too would agree that there is nothing sleazy or vulgar about it. Knowing the sensibilities of Karan Johar (producer) and Rensil D`Silva (director), that`s the least one could have expected.'

cool down. No intention. The conflict was also going on sometimes back in my country too. where ethics are defined differently by different groups.

same is going with our private TV channels' entertainment programs. Disgusting. some people here call it moderanity i call it stinking attitude.

PTV here is the only TV channel which we can still watch with family.

If some action had logical, ethical justification then indeed i agree with them.

I even do not have any problem with their idea of making India as Hindu-state as long as they do not kill innocent people.

I don't have a TV, I use TVT card on an old system. But the problem is when I visit my parents.

If these prudes have an issue with some poster, they should take it up with the censor board instead of tearing things down, India isn't their fathers backyard. How can the same civilization that wrote the kamasutra become so prudish in the 21st century? what went wrong? Probably just a tactic by the Shiv Sena to gain some attention because no one gives a damn about them anymore.

Come on guys , its a poster of Kareena Kapoors back and anyone who hasnt already seen it before problably moves with a walking stick.

I hope you also agree that no one has the right to go around imposing their ideas on others. I have no problem with the poster, I think we should have many more such posters, but that doesn't mean I'll take it upon myself to plaster them all across the city.

You may not, but Indians do. Which is why they are now politically irrelevant. The shiv sena is run by mad men, and believe me they would kill scores of innocent people, ruin the economy and start a war with Pakistan at the drop of a hat. These people need to be sidelined and forgotten.
