Is it possible many of Pakistan's present problems would not have developed if these foot hills of the Sulaiman Mountains had been selected to locate the new capital, Islamabad, rather than the Potwar Plateau?

Eastern wing always felt closer to Karachi. It was nearer. There was a sea link with inter-wing regular passenger shipping. More important: we felt most of the funds spent on developing Karachi into a capital was our input. Karachi had become a mini-Pakistan with all races present.

Moving capital to Islamabad was a grave mistake.. and perhaps a bit connived in my view by certain people with vested interests.
It offers very little advantage so to speak.. in that manner.. Gwadar would have been a great capital or Multan.

hope to visit soon.

as per my friends lakki marwat though is a hot place but they say when you climb at shiekh badin one feel like he's in naran/kaghan(weather)

sorry but sheikh badin is in dubai right now, but you can have visiting appointments i have too heard his air conditioning system works just like you said

GI Khan was contender for Capital back then.

This used to be a summer hill station for the British posted in the area. A picturesque spot which I had visited many decades back.
