Sheikh Hasina defends extrajudicial killing in Parliament

In her closing remarks of the ninth session of the Jatiya Sangsad, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina defended the extrajudicial killings. Responding to criticism of extrajudicial killings by Jatiya Party Chairman and Deputy Leader of the Opposition GM Quader in Parliament yesterday, the Prime Minister said their safety must be taken into consideration before criticizing the activities of law enforcement agencies. We will criticize. But those who work also need to look at safety. He also mentioned in his speech that the law enforcement agencies are working as per the word. Speaker Dr. The session, chaired by Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, ended with a speech by the Prime Minister.
Referring to calling the police first when people are in danger, Sheikh Hasina said, "Everyone should not do or say anything so that they are scared." So that the enthusiasm of their work is not wasted. We have to look at that. It has to be kept in mind. Responding to the Jatiya Party's allegations, the Prime Minister further said that extrajudicial killings have started since the time of Ziaur Rahman. The bodies of many of our leaders and workers were not found.
The leader of the parliament admitted that extrajudicial killings were taking place and said that the trend was continuing. We are trying to figure out how to handle this. We need to control drugs as well. Terrorism must be eradicated. Militancy must be controlled. Law enforcement is working to control these. They have had considerable success. They are doing it at the risk of their own lives. If there are any accidents while doing those things, it is not very unusual. But we are not letting anyone down. We are taking appropriate action.
Before coming to power, Sheikh Hasina was vocal against extrajudicial killings. He promised at various levels that if he came to power, he would show zero tolerance for extrajudicial killings. On September 4, lawyer and human rights activist Brad Adams wrote an article in The Diplomat entitled Bangladesh Crossfire Culture Hits Home. He mentioned that 2,400 people have been killed in extrajudicial killings in the last one decade during Sheikh Hasina's rule. He also wrote that he met Sheikh Hasina at Sheikh Rehana's house in London in 2006. Then Sheikh Hasina promised that,If he comes to power, he will show zero tolerance for extrajudicial killings. However, by defending the extrajudicial killings in Parliament yesterday, he has actually encouraged the police against this crime against humanity. The extrajudicial killing of Major Sinha, a retired police officer in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, last month sparked a backlash in the country. The Prime Minister's statement in Parliament is also a contempt of public opinion against the culture of extrajudicial killings.
It is worth mentioning here that since Sheikh Hasina came to power, crimes against humanity such as extrajudicial killings as well as killings by police in opposition programs, arrests and disappearances of opposition leaders and activists have been on the rise.

Problem is, she doesn't need extrajudicial killings to silence her opposition. Judiciary too comply to her demands. Judicial killings of Jamat e Islami Senior politicians are examples for every one to see. Then, she is fool to use extrajudicial methods. She should keep exploiting judiciary because our so called civilized world doesn't recognize atrocities perpetrated by legal means.

Killing thousands made Hasina acting like serial killer, now she is justifying her criminal activities on record, in front of whole world.

Yet she won't apply the same rule regarding her fathers killing

By defending extrajudicial killings, is Sheikh Hasina justifying the murder of Major (rtd) Sinha? She said extrajudicial killings were started during Ziaur Rahman's time. But in reality extrajudicial killings were started by Rakkhi bahini during Mujib's time.

She sure is double face snake just like her indian master. Just few days ago Hasina was lecturing army to remove marshal law from lexicon. When Hasina herself instigated and invited army takeover no less than 3 occasions. Hasina sure rubbing salt on Bangladesh army, killing them and then taunting them - Hasina taunt Bangladesh army after killing 57 Bangladesh army officers and she is doing the same now after killing Maj Sinha.

Don't pay attention to this OP. Other than some exceptions ( like major Sinha ), extra judicial killing happen to bad people only .

Like extremists ,drug pedller , or human trafickers .

Besides the extrea judicial killing started during BNP Jamat regime of 2001 to 2006. Now this OP ( die hard Jamat supporter ) are blebbering about extra judicial killing .

Tell me if any gang want to kidnap women / children and try to send them in India or Burma for forced prostitution and if police unable to capture them ,will they let the crime happen or simply shoot those mo fuc.kers ?

Who try to sell yaba and don't stop after hundreds of warning from police , and what do you expect police ? To kiss them ? Maybe yellow journalists will whine about arresting and sending them to court , I would say that they will get bell using political influence and they will start again.

So it's better to kill those bastards in order to save common people.

It is expected you and rest of awami league cheer leaders will paddle awami league lie. But there are detail research and reports how awami league regime used extrajudicial killings to hush any opposition voice.

2018 was marked with the record number of extrajudicial killings in Bangladesh, according to an independent human rights group on Thursday.
Last year, 466 people became the victim of extrajudicial killings in Bangladesh, an aid and human rights organization Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) reported.
It is the highest number of extrajudicial killings ever recorded in a year in Bangladesh, Sheepa Hafiza, executive director of ASK, told the journalists in his briefing on the report in the capital Dhaka.
In 2017, the figure was 162, according to the report.
“The extrajudicial killings in the name of an anti-drug operation should be investigated to find out whether any innocent person was killed,” Hafiza said.
“The overall human rights situation was concerning.”
Out of total, 292 killings occurred during a seven month long anti-drug operation, which continued until national elections in December.
Bangladesh also saw significant violence surrounding the national polls, which took place on Dec. 30.
Among 67 people, who were killed in political violence in the country, 34 people were killed by the election violence, including, 19 supporters of the ruling Awami League (AL) party, four activists of the opposing Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and ten commoners.
In the report, 732 rape cases were recorded. 63 of them were killed and seven others committed suicides after rape.
It also documented over 1,000 child abuse cases, including 283 murders and 108 suicides after abuse, the local newspaper Daily Star reported citing the ASK report.
"We haven't seen effective trial and punishment. That is why these crimes are recurring," Hafiza said.
“A combined effort from the government and the general people is required to create a culture of human rights in the country,” she added.
Additionally, a total of 34 people were victims of enforced disappearance throughout the year, of which 19 people were later traced, Abu Ahamad Faizul Kabir, a senior coordinator, said.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, human rights activist Nur Khan said that the tendency of bypassing proper judicial procedures and trial by law enforcement must be stopped at the risk of blurring all other achievements.
Khan urged the government to form an independent commission to investigate all incidents of extrajudicial killing and bring the perpetrators to trial.

Firstly there is no point of argument with you , as doesn't matter how strong logic I use , you will not be convinced.

But still let me ask you a question. If the drug peddler or human trafickers attack police or just flee will this Nur khan chase the criminal instead of police ? Or if the criminal successfully run away and keep traficking women and children , will such activists take the responsibility?

If not then why bothered? Let them kill the criminals in order to prevail order In society . Some filth ( like drug peddler ,human trafickers , and terrorists) should be perished by extra judicial killing instead of getting bell ( and create anarchy in society with full energy )because of flawed system.

However I hope you didn't forget that Ekramul was a BAL goon who was killed by this extra judicial killing. So why you are trying to push things ? Only too defame Hasina ?

Then for your kind information, you can't do that. History is sooo cruel and always written by the victorious.

Bangladesh is passing through such conditions where history will be written by winner .

Read carefully , Mujib will be established as a hero in Bangladesh, from the next generation despite his many flaws , Hasina's destiny is actually the same . To be considered as a hero in history, despite her many flaws .

Khaleda Zia actually had the chance , I would say she had much better chance that Hasina when she was elected as PM in 1991 from a new puny political party .

It was not because of her carishma , but be actually got all votes from Muslim League supporters ( who used to vote against AL in Pakistan period ) , and simply non BAL vote gone to BNP camp .

But for the heat chair of prime minister , Khaleda Zia forgot that the vote she is getting is not because of her own achievement , but all are Muslim League vote and she considered herself as the queen regent and swelled like turkey cock. And now she faced her destiny.

You or your party can do nothing just without burning .

So it's better be realistic and find some peace.

Not really. Indeed she is dictator ,but Bangladesh isn't trapped . She is benevolent dictator and more like mahathir Muhammad who build the fortune of Malaysia.

Only if she hadn't many sycophants ( actually uncle Toms) surrounded her , should would achieve more success.
