BUT

He was far-sighted enough to not to become Prime Minister second time, as he knew that there is all probability of a bad end, as stats suggest that two-time Prime Ministers doest last well. He must be laughing his head out, while sitting smugly in Washington

He wasn't a politician to begin with. Being Prime Minister of Pakistan would be a one liner on his resume as he searches for a better job.

When presented with a list of Aziz's achievements, the standard NS or Zardari supporter doesn't bother arguing the facts, just that he's a con man.

The strength of the arguments is earth shaking.

I read a report informing Aziz would take a job to manage finance adviser position for arab countries as he got international recog. he is simply like indias manmohan singh. country should make use of him..atleast make him finance minister so that pak will do much better.

He was actually the smartest of the lot. Spent his tenure. Made some (read 'a lot of') money. Disappeared. Nobody abuses him. All blames go to Mush.

About him being compared to Manmohan. Well, Shaukat has started his own consulting business in middle east. Advising rich arabs on 'money management' and not their countries. He is a banker and not an economist. And we've seen from the latest financial crises what bankers are capable of!

He came on the express request of the President of Pakistan, with him he brought expertise & references of high end investors.

Banker & economist are two sides of the same coin. I see many lame Pakistani's who claim that where did the money go ! What do you think Pakistan was running on gold & oil in the last 8 months of sleeping, blowing up everything & crap !

The Father in law of Nawaz Shareef Mr. Dar claimed to give a "white paper" on the wrong doings of Shaukat Aziz .. but after lots of fan fare & loss of investor confidence he really did give a "white paper" .. It was white without any proof or stories.

When people here claim that he made profit ! Yes he would have but for making profit in Pakistan you have to bring money inside Pakistan. Many people made profit at that time and it was all because of investors having confidence in the arrangements of Mr. Shaukat Aziz ..

He was and still is the right hand of Saudi investor Prince Waleed. People kiss their hands for bringing in investment .. the last time Egyptian President provided his own person jet for Mr. Shaukat Aziz to come to the investor conference, as any project in which Mr. Shaukat Aziz will show interest will have not only the blessing of Prince Waleed but also other competitors will flock at the possibility of the project being viable.

The money which was accepted & record in Pakisatn under the strict regime of S&P & Moody's rating flew away on the arrival of the mis-management team of democracy.

I would rather pose the question as "Pakistan, do you remember Shaukat Aziz ?" .. cause just recently UAE cancelled the project of Khalifa point refinery. Don't forget at the time of PTCL .. it was UAE which bid a price which was nearly double of the second bidder (China telephone something ...) .. it is a pity now investors are trying level best to avoid investment in Pakistan ...

At least damage repair was done and UAE has come back to the refinery in Lasbella.
