Please understand, my friend did not participate in any of activities there.
He simply went there to check it out to see what's up. That's why I said that these gatherings and slogans don't prove anything. Any dude can simply go in. Not all of them there are shouting for his execution and banning Jamaat.
Are you saying Jamaat supporters will vote for AL as an option?
Another important facet to this matter: Evidence.
I've heard people comparing this to the Nazi trials. What they do not understand is that the Nazis were highly organized and efficient in every aspect of their operations. They maintained detailed accounts and records of everything.
This is unlike the Mukti-Bahini and others. Information management was simply not their best strength. And it was partly for this weakness that Mujib's model of a command economy failed completely.
If you noticed, the likes of BBC News hardly put this in their television headlines. But they did report the recent capsized launch incident yesterday. They did report on the Cambodian war crimes trial in the past. But not this one. They already know well in advance that this "trial" is nothing more than a farce and hardly worth reporting.
I salute the organizers of Shahbag Square for their commitment, but I find their naivete laughable to say the least. Are there not critical issues to address at present?
Naivete is not an option.
not only BBC but all the world media... I have wasted a lot of time watching Al jazeera last few days but couldnt find ShahBag..... the world media already use "alleged or claimed by Bangladesh" while mentioning Bangladesh genocide... The young generation and the Govt putting another question mark on our glorious history... Today Sharmila Bose questions 1971, 50 years later someone else will make Qader Molla a hero for biased trials against him...... we all are idiots.... ...
