Shah Mehmood Qureshi accidentally steps into Indian territory

That's how it should be for everyone. Come over , shake hands and leave if you wish. If you want to visit the other side, be checked for drugs and arms or prohibited material and go in after being recorded. Open border policy. Unfortunately we prefer hating each other
Brother i 110 % agree with you we should be like this not like we are now racing for the weapons while we can use some of that money in developing our country :) :pakistan:

ARY nay actual footage main bhee dhandli ki hay. SMQ didn't know that he had crossed the line. It was a ranger officer who dragged him back. Otherwise Peer sahib would also end up in an Indian Jail with the company of detained fishermen :P

Exactly the kind of comment from a Nooni I was expecting when I made this thread. See now my Indian friends why this news is relevant? Just read the above post :D

Why are they mentioning Bal Thackrey? He's been dead for two years.

Look at him with thumbs up ( :30 onwards) and grinning so wide: mission accomplished

For those wondering what would happen to the soldier: Nothing.

He mistook Mr. Qureshi for a serving public representative and paid due respects per the tradition, that's all.

Its said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Watch again what happens when SMQ crosses the border over to the Indian side and is greeted by Indians, and then see how a soldier from PakArmy INTERVENED and grabbed him back. It clearly shows that it is PakArmy that is messing up with our democratic politicians ever since 1947! :)

Man, this is great. He offered salute to a Pakistani, who has trespassed. This is how things should be on the border, not killings. I hope the soldier doesn't get any flak from IA.

he is not an army soldier. secondly he might have got the orders to do so, otherwise, such kind of trespass is not allowed.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi accidentally steps into Indian territory

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while visiting the Wagah Border between India and Pakistan on Thursday, accidentally stepped across the boundary line and into Indian territory.

According to Express News, Qureshi stepped forward to greet Indian citizens and BSF troops on the other side of the border and accidentally crossed the marked line.

However, Pakistan Rangers informed Qureshi and he moved back. Soon after, the PTI leader joked, “I stepped into India” as someone in the backdrop added, “Without a visa.”

Crossing the border line and stepping into territory normally results in the trespasser’s arrest.

The PTI vice chairman was visiting the border to condemn the suicide blast at the site that killed 61 people on November 2.

That's a nice catch.

There was no need to call him back (he looked welcomed after crossing the line). And grabbing the arm of a public representative like that sure goes beyond generally accepted protocols. It's not as if Mr. Qureshi was in some danger that he needed to be quickly grabbed and pulled back. But good to see he carried it in his own stride.

He was lucky, all the nation's media was there or he could be arrested for trespassing illegally into enemy territory :D

What did you expect? PakArmy or Establishment has been twisting our politicians free arms since at least 1970.

It is basically because, rangers are responsible not just to stop non Pakistanis crossing into Pakistan but also stop Pakistanis crossing Border towards India.

Actually, every institution struggles for greater power. It is an unstoppable phenomenon, but is a constructive force if directed well. I tend to think that the government of Pakistan, under which all institutions come and which is commanded by public representatives (Politicians), too shares the blame for not keeping the Army in check.

In a lighter vein, Indians should spread the word that Mr. Qureshi is actually an Indian spy... will become such a drama

No, the funny part is WHAT will happen to that proud Indian soldier who saluted vice-chairman of the most terrorizing opposition party in Pakistan. Qureshi is not even a VIP or government minister :D
But how does a ordinary soldier will know that he is a VIP or not?..Anyway, what is the big deal with it...
