Serbian President: It is good to see China becoming world power | InSerbia News#

In an interview he gave China’s Xinhua news agency, Nikolic points out that it will be easier to preserve both the world order and the UN if there are countries that are against domination of power over law and if they openly show that, just like Serbia and China are doing, and if they manage to gather a large number of countries around them.

It is good that to see a country such as China becoming a world power, as this means that there will be no domination of one country and one nation in the world, that there will be no ambition to conquer anyone and that anyone who might attempt to behave like those who caused the First and Second World Wars will find a great adversary in the Chinese understanding of freedom and people’s right to their life and their country, the Serbian president said.

Observing that Serbia and China and their people had a lot in common, Nikolic said that Serbia and China had never been leading campaigns of conquest and subversion but had always been targets of those who had been doing that, and they had shown the ability to tell from the very beginning of a war which side was good and what was good not only for their people, but also for mankind.

This has been the strongest connecting element between Serbia and China since the Second World War, he added.

Nikolic said that Serbia had been China’s friend when China had been a very poor, underdeveloped country, but rich in appreciation of Serbia’s love for freedom.

During their meeting in Beijing on Wednesday, Nikolic also thanked him for the support of the Belgrade-Pristina agreement reached through dialogue.

"Serbia is ready for full membership in the EU but if recognising Kosovo's independence (unilaterally declared by ethnic Albanians in 2008) emerges as a condition on that path, it will be an insurmountable obstacle," Nikolic was quoted as saying in a statement from the presidential press office.

He briefed the Chinese prime minister on Pristina's intentions to request that UNESCO declare the Serbian cultural heritage in the province as "Kosovo's", noting that "many monasteries in Kosovo-Metohija were destroyed in the pogrom carried out by ethnic Albanians in 2004."

If the initiative is accepted, the Serbian cultural heritage, which is six to nine centuries old, will be destroyed completely, the Serbian president noted.

"We understand Serbia's efforts to preserve its territory, its people and its cultural heritage and, for that reason, we are ready for dialogue on the matter," the Chinese prime minister said.

Regional stability is very important to us and we respect your wish to become a full EU member. We want to have a joint constructive role in preserving global peace, Li noted.

Nikolic and Li also agreed in Beijing on Wednesday that excellent political relations between the two countries are a good basis for a new, higher level of economic cooperation.

At his meeting with Li, Nikolic highlighted the possibility of joint investments in the construction of factories in Serbia and exports to third markets, the president's press office issued in a statement.

Nikolic also said that economic development and increase in employment are Serbia's main goals, qualifying as precious the Chinese prime minister's support in achieving these goals.

The Serbian president proposed that the Chinese party once again considers the financing conditions for the Belgrade-Budapest railway and pointed to the importance of building a Morava-Vardar channel.

Prime Minister Li thanked Nikolic for his great contribution to the improvement of bilateral relations.

We will encourage Chinese companies to invest into production in Serbia, and we are ready to support all the projects proposed by Serbia. We want to take active part in the renewal of your country, he stressed.

Li Keqiang also expressed China's readiness to reconsider the financing conditions for the Belgrade-Budapest railway.

Moreover, Nikolic and Li talked about companies such as FAP Priboj, Zastava Kragujevac, RD Center, ZTE in Belgrade, Huawei in Kragujevac and the industrial complex for the processing of agricultural products in the Sumadija region.

China should definitely stand by Serbia against the fake country called Kosovo, which is a major source of terrorist in Syria (along with Chechen and Uighurs, these Kosovons are said the most notorious terrorists operating inside Syria). And no surprise here, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are working actively to further radicalize the region, be it Bosnia or Kosovo.

I was a teen when the Serbian-Kosovo war happened along with the bombing of the embassy. The Serbs and Croats suffered a lot. Many came to Canada. The Canadian news outlet at the time were favouring the Muslims and demonizing the Serbs and Croatians.

That was the entire West (US-Northern Europe minus perhaps Germany) + right wing Islamic world.

The plot was to dismantle Yugoslavia. And they managed it. That was probably one of the first NATO-led destabilizing/color revolution operation. After that, they become more sophisticated.

The East Europe, West Asia and North Africa's situation changes very often. There lacking a strong power in the area to protect the regional peace, as to West Europe, USA's benefits, they can change attitude, policy and action freely.

I know three Serbians from student days。

China extends mutual political trust to Serbia
By AN BAIJIE Updated: 2015-09-02 19:58

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse ahead of the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45).

Both China and Serbia were in the battlefields of the world's anti-Fascism war, and both countries have fought for national independence and people's freedom, Li said.

China is willing to enhance mutual political trust, deepen cooperation in areas including economics, trade and manufacture, and promoting the strategic partner relationship between the countries, he added.

Li said the mechanism of China–Central and Eastern European Countries (16+1) has become an important platform to boost friendship and enhance cooperation.

As a symbolic cooperative project, the Hungary-Serbia railway will promote the connection between the countries along its route. China is willing to work with Hungarian and Serbian authorities to make substantial progress on the project, Li said.

China will hold "16+1" talks this year and Chinese authorities will make joint efforts with countries including Serbia to make the talks fruitful, said he added.

Nikolic said friendship between Serbia and China has been enhanced and Serbia would like to learn the development experiences of China.

He welcomed Chinese companies to participate in the infrastructure construction of Serbia and make joint efforts to enhance cooperation.

Serbia supports China hosting the "16+1" summit this year and expects it to be successful.

State Councilor Yang Jing also attended the meeting.

Serbia, China both make great sacrifices in World Anti-Fascist War: president

The Serbian leader came to China for the commemorative activities and military parade to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and said he is confident that China's V-Day parade will be a success.

"I could see on TV how China prepares for the commemoration ... I'm also very pleased that one unit of the Serbian guard will also participate in the parade," he said ahead of the Sept. 3 parade.

The president said he was very happy to be with the Chinese to mark the events and the very part that he wants to see in Thursday's parade is the Chinese soldiers.

He said that he would like to see "how well-trained the soldiers will be and what formation they will walk."

The Serbian leader also praised China's contribution in promoting the peaceful development in the international community, adding that China now plays an important role on the global stage and its rise benefits the whole world.

He also said history should not be getting in the way for cooperation between countries and Japan and Germany should participate in China's commemorating activities for the 70th anniversary of the victory of WWII.

"Everyone cooperates nowadays, China, Serbia, Germany. What ended 70 years ago should be no obstacle to today's cooperation," he told Xinhua.

In addition, the Serbian president said he is very pleased about the bilateral relations. Though separated by thousands of miles, but the friendship between the two peoples are profound.

The Serbian leader welcomed Chinese investment in his country, saying Serbia has a customs-free market, skilled workforce, among others.

"I would like the Chinese investors to build factories and thereby make permanent link with Serbia. I think this is the best form of cooperation," he said.

Currently, thanks to the "Belt and Road" initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping, China-Serbia relations have come to a new high, said Nikolic.

"The idea about the new Silk Road has resulted in the agreement concerning the Belgrade-Budapest railroad. President Xi and I had additional conversations about this project and how Serbia could participate in the investment this time," he said.

Serbian side is preparing for the leaders' meeting of China and Central and Eastern European countries which is expected to take place in China later this year, Nikolic said, noting that prime minister Alexsandar Vucic will lead a delegation for the meeting.

In the end, the Serbian president expressed his gratitude for China's help during his country's flood in 2014.

@TaiShang

Get it into your head. I live in a democratic country and I am free to express my opinion. I haven't abused anyone, so it is none of your business to ask me not to comment on this thread.

By the way you have weird flag combination: China and Taiwan - eternal enemies.

My friend, China & Taiwan are brothers in disagreement, not eternal enemies. Unlike how India portray neighboring Pakistan.
