Serbia-Kosovo conflict

.
It is claimed that Serbia wants to occupy the tiny Northern Serbian-majority parts of Kosovo/Mitrovica.
There is a huge information pollution on social media, and it is a little unclear what is right and what is wrong. Before such news would break out, the Russian state news agency declared that there will be war start this night. Hours later, images and videos appeared on social media. There are also rumors about clashes in Novi Pazar. But as you know, this region is not Albanian but predominantly Bosnian Muslim, it is the northern line of the former Sanjak vilayet. Until the news are clear, it is necessary to be restrained.

BREAKING

Kosovo's police has closed 2 border crossings with neighboring Serbia, Jarinje and Bernjak, after criminals controlled by Serbia's autocratic regime set up barricades in an attempt to destabilize Kosovo and the region. https://t.co/S36U3QXFi8

I still have distant relatives living in Kosovo. My uncle made a phone call and I spoke to him. There is already an ongoing tension. Other than that, there is no war situation. Kosovo already has no military capacity other than law enforcement. But there is a NATO base. Moreover, Serbian territory is within the combat radius of the NATO strategic base in Italy. If Serbia makes a mistake, a very quick and dissuasive step will be taken. Because this route is very important for European logistics. Nobody wants to face a second Ukrainian crisis right on the border.

Vucic will address the nation. It's worth waiting for him.
It's the most stupidest thing to do not to have any army at all, Serbia is buying weapons from left and right to prepare for war and Kosovo is only depending on nato , imagine if nato chickens out ?

There is no such thing happening currently.. There was gunshoots inside the Kosovo part but it was from locals and the police got to the place immediately.. But social media took this out of context immediately after this happened

Therefore, such a provocation is unlikely to take place by Kosovo. Someone might want to set Serbia on fire. I believe Vucic will act smart here and prevent any such conspiracy.

In the north of Kosovo there is a province inhabited by Orthodox Serbs called "Mitrovica", which is a dispute between Serbia and Kosovo, where Serbia says that its Serb residents are subjected to persecution by the Kosovo government and demand its secession and its accession to Serbia.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that Serbian gangs opened fire on Kosovo police near the border

And hours before, Serbian National Assembly Member Vladmir Dukanovic made some absurd statements like this: "Lord, help our people in Kosovo. The infos that has come in is terrible. Everything shows me that Serbia will have to start de-Nazising the Balkans."

Those with a memory for more than a few months will remember recent shows by Serbian ultranationalists. If you are more interested about the region, you also should be aware of the political problems in Bosnia.

The truth is that a war in the Balkans right now would be devastating for both Kosovo and Serbian people. So who does this war benefit? The answer to this question will also illuminate the dark hand that is the owner of this effort.

The weird thing is that Vucic and his government are very pro-EU and center in the style of all those unpatriotic governments. So starting an operation in RS or Kosovo seems far-fetched.

Kosovo can't invade Serbia, but maybe can start trouble. As for Serbia "occupying Kosovo",that's wrong. The correct term is "retaking Kosovo". NATO might not do anything,if Vucic detaches himself from Russia. Also, the Westerners are fed up with Kosovo's corrupt State and had been worried about Albanian irridentism ever since the early 2010s. They certainly don't want to encourage Albanians to start new uprisings and demands for partition in FYROM again.

Here we go again 🙄

Yes,but it was the US who started this situation. Both in Kosovo and in Ukraine. Unfortunately. Putin may have invaded Ukraine, but the Americans and British were obsessed with escalating, they didn't want any dialogue, they kept sending weapons, volunteers, they kept talking about heavy sanctions, they have been trying to isolate Russia and Russians from the world etc.
Agreed. Wish US played a more responsible role. Disappointing.

I don't think Vucic is pro-EU. Although it split from the ultranationalist Serbian Radical Party in 2008, the Serbian Progressive Party is essentially a synthesis and a shift to a diplomatic tone. The Serbian state has many economic and infrastructure problems. The shortest way to overcome these is EU funds and institutions. The investments made in Greece and Bulgaria are evident, and the Serbs, who are part of the same region, also want to benefit from this fountain.

While nationalist movements all over Europe find wide bases again after a break of almost a century, and populist understandings are starting to shape local politics and voter preferences: It is impossible for a country with a sociology like Serbia to isolate itself from this. On the contrary, there is a much more established understanding

There are things in Serbia that the government cannot control. These are of a nature that will overthrow your goverment if you fight against them.
