PERFECT embodiment of the Chinese government, specifically, its attitude that the Chinese people are made to be ruled. Not governed or managed. But
RULED.
To 'rule' is not the same thing as to 'govern'. To 'rule' is to have complete domination over every aspects. If the government does not have hand in something, it is either because the government does not care or does not yet have the time to examine that something.
1- Rule = Subject
2- Govern = Citizen
Item One is what kings, emperors, and assorted types of potentates are to the people.
We know from the article that the security company is not an arm of the Chinese government. But the security company took the cue from the Chinese government regarding how to treat anyone under its jurisdiction.

It was only one generation ago that your China experimented with communism and broke up families in those collective farms. Husbands and wives could not be with each other. Children were raised by the State. If Emperor Xi is informed of this -- that men and women cannot publicly kiss each other as enforced by some low level security company -- you think he is going to gasp in shock?

YOU not shocked? I doubt that you are shocked at this article at all.
YOU are used to it. One restriction after another.
What is it? The more 'Western values' you adopt, the lower your 'social credit'? Is that how it works or going to work as the spectrum for this 'social credit' idea expands? You think the 'princelings' of the Chinese bureaucracy are going to be under this 'social credit' rating system? You are dreaming if you think their children are going to be on the same level as you.
You could lose your job. If the Chinese government says to your employer that you have a low 'social credit' rating, will your boss defy the State and keep you employed? No, you will lose your job or not get promoted, your children -- assuming you have any -- will not get into good schools, any government privileges such as permission to buy a car will be denied to you forever, and the list goes on.
We are not saying the Chinese people were
MADE to be ruled. We are saying that is how your government sees you. So stop being shocked.
